Like most people I have more than one favorite, However, the one that came to mind, I have seen a few times, but not recently. It's "Meet John Doe".

Only the long version (3:49). The trimmed version (2:09) for American audiences was awful.

How they ruined a masterpiece...

 
I like all kinds of movies, in all eras, I don't think they are improving though.
I agree with you there. Hollywood has had writers block off and on for decades. Specially when they try (and typically fail miserably) to improve on classic films or TV shows. Some are good, but most of them are so bad they're insulting to the original crews who made them.
