What are you doing right now?

Today is a keeping warm kind of day. The cold snap has arrived , started going down yesterday afternoon, and will last for the next couple of days. It says it is 33 right now, but feels like 16, and the wind is definitely making it colder.
We do not have to go anywhere, and I have the electric blanket on the bed, so we were warm and cozy last night. I might make some bread, and soup for later today.

Very chilly here as well and I don't want to go out. Low on bread, but I eat less of it now. Still, I wanted something to put peanut butter on.

Whipped up a sort of pan-scone. Flour, some milk powder, cream of tarter and soda since my baking powder is old, an egg, water. Whipped it well, not making it too damp or stiff, made 4 of them on the griddle. Flipped once then let them sit as the griddle cooled.

After cooling, sliced one. A little wet but not bad, fine grained bubbles though. Toasted the halves and it was pretty good. I was worried I might get something more like a baking powder biscuit, which I've never been a fan of.

Got my trash out to the curb for tomorrow morning's pickup. Got the mail.

Bills, bills, and a dealership offer on my car. Of course they want to sell me a new one and the estimate is "book value" making some assumptions before they see it, etc. Still, a good offer and consistent with the last check on value I did myself.

The car is over 7 years old right now, but do I really want to replace it? I keep cars longer than that, and this one has incredibly low miles. Add to that cataracts and my evasion of surgery (yeah, yeah I have an appointment for evaluation) am I nearing the point where I just don't drive much any more though?

But I'm not whining. I am fully aware how many have things much worse than I do. Old age is just hard to adjust to and accept. 😜

Like Indiana Jones said in Raiders, It's not the years, honey, it's the mileage. That line taught me what I needed to know about used cars ;)

Another freezing day here in Alabama, but should start warming up again by tomorrow. Today is one of the days that Kroger has stuff for around half-price on their managers specials, and if it warms up enough, we will probably make a run to krogers and see what they have on sale today.
I ordered apples from Walmart, and they apparently were out of the kind I ordered (and don’t do substitutions), so I am hoping for a small bag of apples from Kroger as well.
Then, we might make a trip to see the chiropractor, because my back has been acting up lately, and often , the chiropractor can help when it does that.

I have been watching videos about growing plants that provide food and are perennial, and some that used to be grown and have fallen out of favor because they don’t transport and store well enough for the markets now days, but would be fine for people to grow at home and eat .

I'm about to get back in the greenhouse to finish cleaning it out. I have hundreds of feet of shade clothe spreadoing out in the yard absolutely filled up with STINK BUgS!
We have never seen them here in 28 years now they are EVERYWHERE.thousands of the little buggers!
We have sprayed, vacuumed them up but nothing works to stop them.
Reminds me of the Bo weevil invasion of the 1920'. s

This year was a bad year for stink bugs. I think that they are like cicadas and army worms, in that some years there are not very many, and some years they are completely an infestation. We had lots of them here as well, but now that we had that freeze last weekend, they are pretty much killed unless they managed to get into the house. The outside bugs are done for the year, here, thank goodness.

I saw where all you need is a bit of Dawn in a spray bottle to take stink bugs down. We are getting a few more every year.

Warmer and quite sunny. Just dragged in from grinding more leaves. Pooped out 😩

It's that time of year: tons of leaves to cope with and only two more pickups left so I can't miss one. Doesn't help to get enthusiastic and grind too many in one load and then struggle to lift and dump the powdered foliage.

I keep at it too long, get tired, and then I still have all of the equipment to put away. :ROFLMAO:

I've seen one or two, but never seen hundreds or actually 1000s in past few months.
