Windows 11

Waiting for 12 to drop.

I'm still using Windows 10 for my home use, not sure if I want to go to W11 yet. I wish MS would drop W12, as they teased it already.

My new laptop came with Windows 11. It's very similar to Windows 10, so far no big differences.

Microsoft is following Apple's lead in not offering their best stuff so they can squeeze more money out of folks. MS doesn't make as much, however, since most of the platforms using Windows are not made by Microsoft. None of my current computers support Windows 11, so I won't be changing. Some guys who have the ability and the know-how are switching to Linux to avoid the Microsoft problems of releasing defective or not optimum stuff, then offering yet another version to fix the problems identified. That is what happened to Windows 8.

My main computer is still Windows 10 and can't move to 11.

I have a newer cheap computer that came with 11 so I can move things over and learn the quirks before the time comes all at once. Whether the differences matter to you depends on your uses.

It makes me think of drivers who question the need for reverse, mirrors, seat belts, turn signals, brakes, etc. since they never use them. :ROFLMAO:

Due to our desktop having 10, and can't have 11 installed, we had to buy a new computer (tower). Basically, one of the best that Dell offers. The updates for 10 is ending in Oct. 2025 and updates for Windows is extremely important to get. My wife's laptop has 11, but came with 10. When 10 came out, I was able to install it on her laptop for free. She is still learning how to use 11, as I am also. At the time I installed 11 into her laptop for free, I didn't do it to the desktop. Thing is, my old desktop told me that 11 couldn't be installed in it.

Unfortunately, we also had to buy Microsoft Office (Word, Xcel and Power Point) for it and that cost $99 for a 1-time/1-computer use.

As for both of us, we think 10 was definitely easier to use, but we are learning 11 pretty quickly. Of course, the older we both get, the harder it can be to learn something new. LOL

My main computer prior to moving to Edison is Window 7. If I had all the missing stuff and a place to put it, I would love to keep it running, strictly for games. It's probably too outdated to use online now.

My laptop is Windows 10 and for the most part I tolerate it's quirks. Last November I bought two new laptops with Windows 11, one works ok, in spite of Micro$oft's assortment of crapware. The other one had so many problems I took it back to Costco.

I bought them for my son and I. I returned mine, and he's never even looked at his. So I use it as a TV.

I use windows 11 on my laptop. It’s not too bad. I liked vista better though.
