What's your Weather like today

Supposedly 71F but the sun is strong through the haze where I have sun. Sure got warm mowing and I did a little more wiring repair, soldering in full sunlight to best see what I was doing.

Glad I did. I have a 110 watt portable folding panel that came with some problematic connectors. As soon as I put a 550Wh power station on it the fans started - getting around 70 watts even with the haze. I have a second one in the shade over a long cable to a 100 watt panel and charging my mower's battery using pass-through: about 50 watts in and 50 watts out.

I don't have an appropriate 24 volt charge controller designed for lead-acid batteries, so I go the long way around (through the power station's 120 VAC inverter and a 24 volt battery charger). I have a 12 volt charge controller, but 24 volt units aren't common or cheap.

Nice sunny morning but cool. Things are going downhill for the afternoon and evening. Just 2 rain showers so far but the WB just issued a severe thunderstorm warning complete with high winds, half dollar sized hail and a tornado watch until 9 pm. :(

Tornadoes seldom come this far west but the hail and wind are always big threats. I’m pretty sure we hit 2 weeks of rain today.

We finally had one good day! It was sunny and in the mid-60s F. today. We got a good portion of the outside gardens planted today. It is supposed to rain for the next three days.

Mostly sunny with high haze. Started out 55F, now 60 and heading toward high 70s.

As the smoke particles fall I see that they are weird. Very fine of course, but very yellow, more than halfway from ashy white to full yellow. Maybe the UV has altered its chemistry?

Rain has restarted. We awoke to 50 F. but the temp dropped to 40 F. when the rain started. We may have to start a fire in our big greenhouse to keep the temp up.

At last! A day without rain although I shouldn’t celebrate too soon but the sun is shining brightly right now. ☀️

Rain is forecast for tomorrow but I’ll think about that when it gets here. Yesterday we did have a danger noodle near me. It didn’t touch the ground so it was just classified as a funnel cloud. Along with it we had flooding, hail, wind and the everyday menu of weather.

Light rain stopped, eventually the cloud cover moved on, and now we have pretty good sun. Might reach 80F, already closing in on that.

Anyone else getting more support for local weather coverage? Some of TV weather guys are doing daily posts on YouTube, and a storm chaser group has started doing this as well:

This guy is fun to watch for his gold prospecting hobby, but here he shows what the Canadian smoke is doing to sunny days on Lake Superior:

He generally brings along a couple of his dogs, but today we just got Rigby.

That sky should have been a brassy blue!

My weather forecast for today, Monday, June 9, 2025, indicates a maximum daytime temperature of 16°C and a minimum nighttime temperature of 12°C.
The weather will be sunny intervals changing to overcast by late morning. Met Office predicts light rain changing to cloudy in the afternoon, with a maximum temperature of 17°C.

We may get two rain-free days after today. It is not raining at the moment, but it is quite windy even down here in the woods. As it clears tomorrow, the danger of frost returns tomorrow night.

This is definitely a chilly June, and wet. Very strange. There are few to no bugs? Even the lack of mosquitoes is concerning. But we definitely have and insane amount of ticks. I have started wearing a pyrethrin sprayed hazmat suit for weeding and work in tall stuff. I forgot to spray the hood and still had two in my hair!!!!
My bees are gone after 35 years! The annoying ant nest in front of the porch is dead. My garden has been flooded to the point of losing crops. I just planted beans in containers to grow just for seed.
Global warming is screwed.
I am glad to see weather from all on here is different than mine

Our weather this year has been a lot like you are describing, @Mary Stetler . This is one of the coolest and rainiest years we have had here in Alabama since we have lived here.
We have had the little backyard pool filled and ready since May, and it still has been way too chilly to even think about taking a dip in the pool. Rain in the forecast every single week !
It has been good for the flowers and berry bushes though, lots of blueberries this year and also the black raspberries.

OK, Today is in the 70's. Only two warm days predicted this week. It will be muggy with all the rain we've had. Finally mosquitoes are coming to life:eek: I have a tub that catches water and it had wigglers and newly hatched babies on the sides. I murdered them, dumping the tub to start over.
Without bees, something pollinated my cortland apple tree and a few other things. I wonder what it was.

A glorious day yesterday--temp up to 67 F. and sunny most of the day. Showers and thunderstorms late in the afternoon, but that is to be expected when it has gotten so blazing hot!;) The same is expected today, so maybe the gardens will get going now.
