What's your Weather like today

Cleared it up, now they say within 2 hours more snow. :ROFLMAO:

Oh well. Snowblower is in the sunlight to let the snow melt off after brushing it a bit. I'll probably cover it again before the new snow comes. Might need a shot or two of lube to help avoid freeze-up. Oops, I need to get out and the get battery. I forgot!

People will be using a lot of electricity and gas, trying to keep warm, plus all of the holiday lights everywhere by next week; so we might have rolling blackouts.
Silly people. You can do plenty using solar-powered lights, and far more elaborate than my cheap and minimal-effort ones.

This was long-exposure and my hands were shaky. I should try a tripod some night. The "smoky clouds" are snow on the branches, enhanced by my shaking. The white lights below are my normal year-round lighting.

I can set different fades and patterns. One nice variation fades into and out of blue and green, then orange and red.

I'm still tempted by a cheap string of solar fairy lights in a golden-white. I figure I could take a circle of cardboard, paint both sides for durability, then lay out a star design and poke the lights through holes. That's about the limits of any "crafty" ambition on my part though. 😜

They are saying that by next weekend, we will be down into the teens, at least overnight for maybe a week, and days below freezing, but no snow expected at this point in time.
It looks like the cold zone is going way down into Florida !

Bobby is getting the small propane tanks filled up in case of emergency, but our gas wall heater can run without electricity, just with no fan.
When I dealt with wall heaters, I was very uncomfortable. It made me feel like a house fire waiting for an excuse to start. Be on your toes @Yvonne Smith and @Bobby Cole, especially without a fan.

Ok here's one for the books. I was worried that it would not be cold enough for me tonight. I went to the freezer in the garage to get some bacon and it was FLEXIBLE. My freezer had died and it is full and big. I opened the garage doors which is a big no no usually and got my car out. Left hubby's in so I could use it early. It is 9 degrees at 6pm but is supposed to get WARMER over the night after midnight. Ordered a replacement freezer and required it come tomorrow, took everything out of the dead one and stacked in boxes in a tower on the floor. Covered with quilts and will leave the door open until I go to bed.
Pray for COLD!
Whodda thunk?
At least I am smart enough to kill things in the winter. Neighbor's died last June and she called me in a panic for freezer space because they were going on vacation!

Some of us up here get all whiney about the cold about now.
Not me, I'll take cooler weather over 90°F to 100°F plus for months on end any day. I don't like excessive heat. All this past summer the only time we went out was for groceries and a Mocha, and then we only went out late at night. And even then it was still too hot for my taste. The weatherman says the hottest we're going to get in the next two weeks is 60°F! 🧋 🤙

Thanks for the prayers. It made it below zero which won't stay that way but it is supposed to get there again mid week. Just a smidge below zero is enough, though.

Right around freezing. Got 3 more inches of snow but heavy, slushy stuff. Cleared that, probably will rain a bit later on. Then things will probably cool way down again before we get more snow this weekend.

We have a lot of snow on the ground. Haven't had a winter like this in quite a while. This is what I used to think of as a Wisconsin winter.
This weekend might be below zero and then they say there will be a 'warm' stretch. Funny to watch the waves of temps cross the country.

Is a wall heater also known as a space heater?
What we have is a natural gas wall mounted heater, @Marie Mallory . It is not a space heater, at least what I think of as a space heater. The houses around us all have them, because they are old and used to have the floor furnace years ago, just like our house did.
The central heating and air has not worked in this house for several years now, and we have tried to keep warm using those little electric floor heaters, which are not safe to let run overnight.
Bobby installed the gas heater about a year ago, and it has worked really well. This picture from amazon is exactly what we have. It can work with an electric fan or with the fan turned off.
