I like it when it is warmer than predicted, generally. As they rely more and more on computer models, the forecasts get less and less accurate.

Thank you! After suffering through 37 days of at least 100°F, including the summer high of 108°F, we have had almost 3 very pleasant weeks of 50°F days and low 40°F nights (it's 42°F now) in late November and early December. We have also had a banner year for rainfall, with 12.36", which the third wettest year on record, and it's only the 6th of December and the California rainy season is just starting.
Temps in the 20s F. are delightful in winter here, especially if the wind isn't blowing. As I have said before, -30 F. is the dividing line for me, as I find it begins to hurt to breathe at that ambient temperature unless you shield your face in some way. Wind and humidity affect how the weather feels, like the "miserable cold" I mentioned before.I watch Ryan Hall, Y'all on youtube for weather sometimes. He has been predicting polar vortecies lately. I don't feel they are actually polar if the temps don't get to 20 below or better. I have been in a few winters here like that. I do, however prefer my temps stay above 10 above most of the time. Even zeroF is not too bad if there is no wind.
I follow Ryan Hall on X, and he is saying we are in for the arctic blast down here in the South as well. My radar is showing that by next weekend we will be down to 19, and it may be even colder by the time we actually get the cold here.I watch Ryan Hall, Y'all on youtube for weather sometimes. Our temp here is low 70s, but we too woke up without power. It is back on last couple hours.Very windy at the moment. Winds predicted to be 50 mph or more. A number of people nearby have lost power, but we are oaky so far. Temperature is 12 F. and dropping. It is a dangerous time to be out and about without proper clothing. I suspect we will be well below zero F. as the weekend progresses and there is no break in the cold for the next week or ten days. The weather guy said to make sure your heating system and back-up heating system are in good order, and that all the vehicles--car, truck, snow machine, and airplane are protected and have proper heating.
