What are you doing right now?

This morning I started my "solar farming" again and got the cooking out of the way. Hard sunshine again until rains and thunderstorms (may) arrive late afternoon or evening. Only 91F expected though, so a tiny bit of relief there.

Grass needs mowing in the back, but that's not happening yet.

I have a couple of other projects, but I'm only prepping for those until a cooler day.
 
I'm currently listening to music and browsing facebook. I recently started a new project on there that I hope will pay off soon. Started a new group that's for funny memes, and videos.

Cooking some chicken so when things get hot here I'll have it done. Finally got a little rain so it is wet and it is cloudy too so I have an excuse to stay in and work on a few small projects.

We were just discussing setting up our solar. Of course we don't agree on where it should be set up.:)
 
At the time I'm watching for hubby on the tractor under huge trees the vines have hold of. Can be dangerous if the vine pulls one of the big limb's down on you.
In the morning after my walk I hope, I'll pick up the palm limbs he cut off the tree that were damaged by Hurrican Helene, we have lots of tree limbs down and a few large trees. So much work here, not sure how long we can handle it.
Good thing is we can stop when we want. And it keeps us busy so I don't go nuts being out here in the woods.

I just went thru the woods with hubby, showing him which trees we want to save when he comes thru with his bush hog for the large vine areas.
I cut a few vines on the way.
Brought in mop bucket for floors later on when its too hot to be outside is when I mop the floors and do inside work.
 
Woke up again (sleeping on and off lately), still chilly at 64F (cool night came along for a change). Overcast but not even misting, so our light rains might be over here. Not even clammy so I guess everything soaked it all up. Now 8:30 and still not worth dragging solar panels out, so a "holiday" from that. 😜

Summer online sales coming yet this week, so I'm thinking about browsing items and making a list in case of deep discounts on stuff I might be interested in.
 
But of course, I should have said that even the high 70°F range is much preferable over the 100°F range. But here it is just after midnight, and it's still 81°F outside.
 
Taking a little break.

I set out solar panels and power station "buckets" to catch the power. Then I took a bow saw out and hacked away at some dense redbud trees hanging over the fence from the neighbor's yard. She can't gripe much, most of the leafy limbs are on my side and she already did more major hacking on her side several weeks ago.

I'll hit the pharmacy for refills soon. After that, I have a huge pile of leaves and limbs to hack up into disposable pieces. The thicker limbs will be set aside to dry and season for use in the firepit once cooler weather returns in the Fall. Several are thicker than what I can have picked up as part of the weekly yard waste disposal I'm already paying for. There are strict limits on what we can burn here, and how. So leaves and sticks have to be hauled away.
 
We are actually getting some rain today, and we have been needing some. It is still a pretty hot day, so the air is almost too humid to even breathe outside , and the rain is intermittent.
I gave Poodle his bath (he was in the dirt again yesterday), and his treat afterwards, of course. He is not impressed with bathing and grooming, but it helps that he knows a treat will be coming afterwards.

I am trying the first loaf of bread in the new bread machine that my daughter loaned me. This one weighs more than my bread machine, but makes only smaller loaves, which is probably better for us , in any case.
I am doing the basic white bread recipe again, to see how it comes out in this machine, and then I may try some more interesting kind of loaf the next time we need bread.
 
We have entered our brief period of abundance. We had grilled pork yesterday evening (not from us as we no longer raise pigs), supplemented with a marinated salad of fresh cucumbers, green onions and cherry tomatoes. Grilled zucchini of several types with fresh fennel. Only the pork was not raised here. A glass of apple wine from our orchard of two years ago finished off the meal.

Subsistence fishing should begin in a week or so, but we are getting a little too old to do that any more, so we will beg some from our sons;).
