What animals have you seen recently?

A cowbird. Sitting on the windowsill looking in the kitchen window. All day long. I don't like those birds. One year I saw a little tiny sparrow trying to feed a big clunky juvenile cowbird, who it thought was her offspring. A bottomless pit in sparrow measurements.
I don’t think that I have ever heard of a cowbird, @Nancy Hart . What do they look like and why are they called cowbirds ? I guess I will have to look on YouTube and see what they are and if I have ever seen one.

More than you wanted to know: ;)

Adult male Brown-headed Cowbird. A little larger than a bluebird.

"Cowbird females lay their eggs in the nests of other birds of a different species. The foster parents care for the cowbird chick as if it were their own biological offspring, usually feeding it even after it outgrows the nest. If it chooses the nest of a very small bird, it can crowd the other chicks out of the nest."

He was back again yesterday. Now that I think about it, he is probably attracted to his reflection in the window glass.
