Hello all! I just wanted to get a gauge on how people are feeling about Trump's second term. I'm okay with this being a long-term discussion about the (almost) daily actions taken by his administration and if you agree or not.

I guess I'll start with some of the more up-front actions that have been in motion for a while:
1. ICE - I agree that illegal immigrants should be removed form the US, but I don't agree with how it's being done. It seems like they're purposely escalating situations to either make content for the White House twitter page, which we have seen plenty of.
2. Ending of Birthright Citizenship - This I have a huge problem with, because if they remove this right, where does the claim of being a birthright citizen end? I haven't seen anything from the administration that described exactly what the end-game of this action looks like. Is it just the first generation birthright citizen? Or third generation? Or fifth? Will it matter?
3. Foreign Policy - I'm not sure why Trump is so adamant about trying to expand the United States. Just today there was something that came out that showed his plans for the US, which included having Canada, Greenland, and Venezuela as territories. While I know that many Venezuelans were happy about their leader being arrested, I'm sure they would like their independence. The people of Greenland don't seem to want to be part of the United States, and Canada doesn't seem very excited about it either. All this on top of Trump demolishing the East wing of the White House and building a new nuclear bunker to replace the one made many years ago. It just seems like he's pushing for war instead of peace.
4. Tariffs - These have caused many goods and raw materials to go up in price. Things are not getting cheaper, they're getting more expensive. I work at a place that used to import a lot of steel, but we had to lay off a good portion of the company because it just wasn't profitable to continue making our products with the tariff margins. We had to forgo our annual raises because of this as well, which many of us are not happy about, even the ones who primarily support Trump and his administration.
5. Self-enrichment - It's becoming fairly apparent that criminals are getting pardons if they bend the knee to the president and potentially promise a huge donation to his administration. He was given a luxury Boeing 747 from Qatar which was not a gift to the United States, it was a gift to Trump that would eventually go into his presidential library for his own personal use.

There have been a few things that I agree with Trump on, I heard he recently signed something that was to discourage companies from buying single family homes, and I do agree that illegal immigrants should be removed from the US, although it's being done poorly.

I'm interested in what people have to say about any of these topics or others. I'm always looking forward to hearing other opinions.

We actually have threads already started where we are discussing most of these topics, @Doogos . It makes it much simpler to have the discussion about one topic at a time, as opposed to the whole list of things you have brought up in this thread. It took a lot of space just to list them, and to try and address each topic in a single post is almost going to require a novel , so I have not responded to the thread before now.

Feel free to delete it then, if you'd like. I tried to look through the list of ongoing conversations but didn't see anything applicable. Please accept my apologies

No need to apologize. You asked for opinions.
ICE may appear to be doing things badly, sometimes, but when they asked for cooperation from law enforcement to turn over info on extreme criminals or even the criminals in custody they were covered or even let loose rather than being handed over. Sanctuary cities? So then it takes more ICE officers and more force sometimes. Protesters are paid and go from place to place to stand in the way...Trump gave out the mission and ICE is doing the best it can.

Look at the corruption and money siphoned off to Somalia and other countries, Look at the corruption in our Congress. It has to be stopped.
I would think a deal will be made in Greenland that will benefit all. They will get a way to make use of resources (development and industry) and we will get protection from the outside.
Not sure about the plane but throwing it back in the giver's face might not have been wise at the time.
Trump is playing chess on the world stage and is playing many opponents. I don't think he actually wants all the territories but keeps everyone shaken up to accomplish goals that maybe only he knows. China was moving in on Venezuela as it did the Panama canal. This could not be tolerated under an active president. Biden and Kamala would not have even noticed. China is also 'making deals' in Canada under their present PM. Western Canada wants to secede after how they have been treated--paying huge taxes and having their natural resources taken with little return... It may like the protection of being part of the US. We will see.
Tariffs will take time to prove themselves. But we have been paying unfair tariffs around the world with little reciprocity.
In the meantime most of the worlds central banks and currencies are collapsing and countries are scrambling. I am sure people will point to Trump as the cause of it here after decades of kicking the dollar can down the road.

The thread is fine, and people can discuss all of it here as well as on the other threads we have about current events here in the US. I was just trying to explain for myself, why I had not responded to it before now.
I am a rambling kind of person anyway, and when there are 10 different things to respond, I could end up writing a sequel to Gone With the Wind, so it is better for me if I address topics one at a time.

Overall, I can say that I don’t believe what is on the liberal news media, and I get my news mostly from the government websites or conservative journalists, and I support what President Trump is doing with everything.
I am happy and proud to have a president (finally) who actually cares about the United States as a country, and the American people, as well as wanting peace in the whole world.

I for one like your 'rambling'. ;)

IC E is doing a good job dealing with the illegals who came in uninvited and first act is criminal. Not to speak of many commit violent crimes once here.
Although I don't agree with Trump for going back on his word far as illegal invasions before election, " if your here illegal, you have to go". After election, " if you've been here a couple years and have a job, you can stay". IOW's you can continue to change the nation into where you cam from, take blue collar jobs from Americans, sometimes get housing while many Americans are in our streets. and commit most of the crimes with your gangs and their allies.
I do agree with Trumps idea of bringing back mental institutions and hospitals for the mentally ill and drug addicts.
I just went to the grocery and food is very high while Trump is telling us it has went way down. I don't have any personal feeling for presidents except I hope they will do the job of the nation.
I see the nation falling apart in past few decades no matter who gets in ,[ although I still don't ever plan on voting democrat].
I don't know any other RINO any better than Trump for the job now though.

President Trump has never said that if you have a job , you can stay.
If you look at what ICE is doing, they are arresting the illegals with criminal charges, and deporting the other illegals back home. If they have a family, they can take their children along with them, of course.

The people who are here with a visa to work are also having their visa revoked, and many of them went back to their homeland over the holidays and found that they could not even come back again, because the visa was no longer valid. There is a lot of fraud being committed there, too, and things are happening to stop that; but it is not showing up in the news as much right now.

This whole procedure is not going to happen overnight, @Marie Mallory , but it IS happening, and will continue to happen until the illegals are gone ,and the foreign visa workers are pretty much gone, too.
The Hindee people have been able to get loans to buy hotels and gas stations that were not available to legitimate Americans. As well as home loans. Even some of the illegals were given home loans, none of which should have ever happened.

With 4 years of uncontrolled invasion of this country, and the paid protestors making the removal process hard, it is going to take a while to reclaim our country, but it is happening, and the Trump administration is doing their best to support the removal of all illegals. We have judges who have been paid to give court orders to block deportation of even hardened criminals, making everything harder.

Trump did say "if you've been here a couple years and have a job, you can stay. I couldn't believe he said it either.
Also those 80 people at a time being deported are nothing. Meantime 180 million others are having babies.
Makes me wonder if Trump and the courts don't work together, funny thing other presidents didn't have that problem with courts. Isenhower, Ronald Reagan, Bush, Clintons, Obama, all deported illegal's.
Maybe Trump has a reason for waiting I don't know, there is no way the courts can legally stop Trump from deporting millions of invaders from the nation.
We were at drivers license bureau yesterday and it was insane ,even the loud speakers were blasting out in Asian and Latan lango. People going in speaking in the same.
Yet they denied Jake his license because he didn't bring in his damn birth certificate, when all they said he need's was 2 proofs of ID and light bill proof of residence. So a 60-mile round trip for nothing.
Yvonne, why do you get so upset over this debate , ,nobody is making false claims about anyone. I voted for Trump once too but don't plan to vote again for anyone.

This is why I stayed away from politics and should have continued to do so.
All it does is upset people.

I am not upset at all, Marie. I have never heard President Trump say anything except that we were going to keep departing all the illegals, but maybe you heard him speaking somewhere that I didn’t hear it. In any case, he is deporting them as fast as he can, and the other presidents didn’t have all of the protesters that we have now, so they could just do their job.
Now, our law enforcement has to fight their way in to arrest rapists and child molesters , which is totally crazy.

President Trump did say that the legal farm workers would be able to stay, and that was announced soon after he took office. We have had Hispanic people with a green card working in agriculture for many years, and there is no reason that that would not still be happening. When I looked, that was the only reference that I could find about letting workers stay.

I didn’t mean to upset or offend you, I was just sharing information about what is happening; so if I did offend you somehow, I apologize.

You didn't offend me at all, then I realized I may be offending you and was sorry I got into it. I don't want to make you feel bad or mad, and especially over something like politics.
