Hello all! I just wanted to get a gauge on how people are feeling about Trump's second term. I'm okay with this being a long-term discussion about the (almost) daily actions taken by his administration and if you agree or not.

I guess I'll start with some of the more up-front actions that have been in motion for a while:
1. ICE - I agree that illegal immigrants should be removed form the US, but I don't agree with how it's being done. It seems like they're purposely escalating situations to either make content for the White House twitter page, which we have seen plenty of.
2. Ending of Birthright Citizenship - This I have a huge problem with, because if they remove this right, where does the claim of being a birthright citizen end? I haven't seen anything from the administration that described exactly what the end-game of this action looks like. Is it just the first generation birthright citizen? Or third generation? Or fifth? Will it matter?
3. Foreign Policy - I'm not sure why Trump is so adamant about trying to expand the United States. Just today there was something that came out that showed his plans for the US, which included having Canada, Greenland, and Venezuela as territories. While I know that many Venezuelans were happy about their leader being arrested, I'm sure they would like their independence. The people of Greenland don't seem to want to be part of the United States, and Canada doesn't seem very excited about it either. All this on top of Trump demolishing the East wing of the White House and building a new nuclear bunker to replace the one made many years ago. It just seems like he's pushing for war instead of peace.
4. Tariffs - These have caused many goods and raw materials to go up in price. Things are not getting cheaper, they're getting more expensive. I work at a place that used to import a lot of steel, but we had to lay off a good portion of the company because it just wasn't profitable to continue making our products with the tariff margins. We had to forgo our annual raises because of this as well, which many of us are not happy about, even the ones who primarily support Trump and his administration.
5. Self-enrichment - It's becoming fairly apparent that criminals are getting pardons if they bend the knee to the president and potentially promise a huge donation to his administration. He was given a luxury Boeing 747 from Qatar which was not a gift to the United States, it was a gift to Trump that would eventually go into his presidential library for his own personal use.

There have been a few things that I agree with Trump on, I heard he recently signed something that was to discourage companies from buying single family homes, and I do agree that illegal immigrants should be removed from the US, although it's being done poorly.

I'm interested in what people have to say about any of these topics or others. I'm always looking forward to hearing other opinions.

We actually have threads already started where we are discussing most of these topics, @Doogos . It makes it much simpler to have the discussion about one topic at a time, as opposed to the whole list of things you have brought up in this thread. It took a lot of space just to list them, and to try and address each topic in a single post is almost going to require a novel , so I have not responded to the thread before now.

Feel free to delete it then, if you'd like. I tried to look through the list of ongoing conversations but didn't see anything applicable. Please accept my apologies

No need to apologize. You asked for opinions.
ICE may appear to be doing things badly, sometimes, but when they asked for cooperation from law enforcement to turn over info on extreme criminals or even the criminals in custody they were covered or even let loose rather than being handed over. Sanctuary cities? So then it takes more ICE officers and more force sometimes. Protesters are paid and go from place to place to stand in the way...Trump gave out the mission and ICE is doing the best it can.

Look at the corruption and money siphoned off to Somalia and other countries, Look at the corruption in our Congress. It has to be stopped.
I would think a deal will be made in Greenland that will benefit all. They will get a way to make use of resources (development and industry) and we will get protection from the outside.
Not sure about the plane but throwing it back in the giver's face might not have been wise at the time.
Trump is playing chess on the world stage and is playing many opponents. I don't think he actually wants all the territories but keeps everyone shaken up to accomplish goals that maybe only he knows. China was moving in on Venezuela as it did the Panama canal. This could not be tolerated under an active president. Biden and Kamala would not have even noticed. China is also 'making deals' in Canada under their present PM. Western Canada wants to secede after how they have been treated--paying huge taxes and having their natural resources taken with little return... It may like the protection of being part of the US. We will see.
Tariffs will take time to prove themselves. But we have been paying unfair tariffs around the world with little reciprocity.
In the meantime most of the worlds central banks and currencies are collapsing and countries are scrambling. I am sure people will point to Trump as the cause of it here after decades of kicking the dollar can down the road.
