I am not a vegan or even totally vegetarian, but since reading more and more about the importance of dietary fiber, I have been adding more plant foods to my diet, since that is where we get fiber from.
There are a lot of good books about plant based eating and also about how important fiber is for a healthy body, and what foods have the best fiber. Dr. Bulciewicz has written maybe one of the best ones, called “Fiber Fueled”, and he is a gastroenterologist, so this is his medical specialty.
Dr. Michael Greger has also written a lot about the importance of fiber in his books, and I defnintely recommend both of these authors for anyone who wants to have a healthier diet.

No as recipes would be of no use to me as I cannot cook!

Okay then !
I can cook although I have never been a person who enjoys cooking, but I do like food that tastes good. I have been working on eating the healthiest food s that I can, so I watch some of the YouTube videos and try some of the simple food ideas from there.
Actually, making the healthy ice cream in the Ninja is my favorite, and also making smoothies in the blender. EASY is what works best for me.
(If I can learn how to do this in my 80’s, then you can , too…….)

Can I still do it if I am dyspraxic?

I do not know what that is, @MamaFrankie . Can you explain what that means and why you think you can’t make easy ice cream with a Ninja Creami ?

Okay, I looked it up and it is a motor skills issue. I don’t know if it is something that you would or wouild not be able to use. I put the ingredients in my blender, blend everything up, and then freeze it overnight in the Ninja Creami.
I would suggest maybe watching a video of someone using one of the Creami machines, and see if it is something that you think you could do ?

Are Ninja Creamis available here?

I do not know about that. If you are someplace where you can order from Amazon, then they should be available. We have them here is regular stores, like Walmart or other large stores; but I have no idea what is offered in other countries.

I had a regular ice cream maker for a while, but it didn’t do a very good job of trying to make healthy ice cream, it just didn’t turn out good and was a nuisance to use.
After i saw the Ninja Creami, and that people were making ice cream from just about anything, from regular ice cream to vegan and sherbets makde from frozen fruit, I saved up and bought one.
We have had ours 2-3 years now, and we use it all the time in the summer.

If you are not able to cook, how do you eat ? does someone help you or fo you just buy food ready to eat ?

I buy food I can heat in the microwave or air fryer.

I won't use Amazon on principle as they treat their staff like dirt.

I have been reading about how amazon is getting rid of all of the American workers and now just hiring illegals, and i also agree that this is awful. Apparently, it is not just Amazon doing that, and from what i read, every corporation that has put in a non-American as their CEO has been doing the same thing.
This is why we have been having all of the trucking accidents, becasue they have hired the H1-B people from India or other countries that cane read ir speak English and are used to driving on the other side of the road than what we do here. Every day more truck are crashing and people being killed from this, and Amazon is also one of the companies hiring these people.

Anyway, that is way off-topic of plant based foods and ice cream machines. My best idea is just to look wherever you do shop and see what is available. If you can use a blender, you should be able to use the ice cream machines, because all you have to do is put the frozen container in and press the start button and the machine does the rest.

Thank you for this, Yvonne. I'm housebound though and can't get out to shop.

I can understand that. Now that I am in my 80’s, I don’t go places like I used to do either, so most of my shopping is done online, and having groceries delivered. Between Walmart for groceries and Amazon for things i can’t find at Walmart, I can get most thing that are necessary. If you do not shop online and doing go out to shop, how do you get groceries and other necessities ?
