How are you feeling today?

Pretty good today as I became a great grandfather for the first time yesterday. Granddaughter lives near San Diego so it will be a while until I can see the new great grandson. A dusting of snow overnight but nothing serious. We are working on re-doing the office/sewing room, so that leads to aches and pains.
Blessings to you and your wife, and your new great grandson and his family! Congratulations!

Is it something that you can help with diet or lifestyle changes, @Jacob Petersheim ? The doctors told me that my CHF would only get worse, and the same thing with the kidney failure that came along with it. After making diet changes and lifestyle changes, I am actually back into the normal area for CHF and almost out of kidney failure, too. It is worth looking into, and there are a lot of good health books to read that can offer natural treatments that might help.

I agree, and try to let food be my medicine and medicine my food, Hippocrates. Of course when that doesn't work I call the doctor.

Congratulations on the great grandbaby.

I feel great. Daughter helped me burn the really bad wool and brush today as the weather is going to turn this weekend and the mice seemed to like the wool. I am putting out mixtures of corn meal and baking soda to try to head some of them off. My old barn cat needed to come home again for the winter.

This killed the mice when they eat the cornmeal, @Mary Stetler ?
How do you mix it, what ratios of baking soda to corn meal ? We have those rats around here, and I would like to get rid of them, but the cats around here also kill and eat them, so we do not want to poison any rats and have it kill the cat or make it sick. If the rat eats the baking soda and dies or gets sick, and the cat gets it, it would not hurt the cat.

In theory, it won't hurt cats because of the proportion and my cat will not eat previously dead things. Does yours? But how it kills is the rodents stomachs swell up from the baking soda--not a peasant death.
In my barn, I have a manure bucket partially full of water and recently it had a large number of dead mice in it. Maybe they go in from thirst with this?
I found the mixture on youtube if you would like more info.

Today is good. I don't know what I'll do now. Maybe dig up elephant ears and pot them. Its warm here already. So putting on bug protection isn't a good idea or I'd finish greenhouse.
After 63 years of smoking lungs ain't what they use to be so heat gets to me more now. Walking helps a lot. I try to get at least 3000 steps a day, Jake got over 4000 yesterday moving truck parts around, etc,.

I've heard of filling a 5 gal bucket half full of water Cover the water with oats, and place a board from the ground to the top of the bucket.

Found myself lying wide awake in the dark at 5 AM so I finally got up. Not sure why it came to mind... realized I was stewing over my TDS-captured daughter-in-law and the upcoming holiday season.

Normally I try to ignore it and not let it bother me. After all, she's married to my son and "mother" to the only grandchild I'll apparently ever have (though my son has basically raised him alone - she's soooo self-involved).. But he also asked me for money recently to assist in hard times for her "business" - which as far as I can determine involves trying to scam money out of the government for random losers.

if they invite me at Christmas I'm likely to beg off.. Same if they decide to do Christmas at my ex's.

I hate to be petty, but I am so done with the BS from the Communists I could paint my car red, white, and blue and drive up and down playing "YMCA" full blast with the windows open.

Concerned about an irregular heart beat this morning. I am waiting for the cardiology office to return my call to see if it needs addressed. I am supposed to be smoking a turkey today and my wife is at her annual physical.
