It is a recurring issue in history. The normal process is often interrupted by refugees that the U.S. itself has made, be they here because of the Vietnam era, from Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. Now we have the bizarre situation where we have even citizens without any criminal background being deported to foreign countries without any legal recourse. We have not been deporting any US citizens, @Shadowman .
We are not even deporting non-citizens if they have a card or visa to be here legally. We are deporting people who came across the borders illegally and have no legal right to be in the United States.

If the illegals we deport have children, they are allowed to take their children with them, and the fake news has been spinning this to make it sound like the government is deporting legal citizens.
However, all they are doing is letting the parents (who have legal custody of their children) the choice of whether to take their children along when they are deported back to their home country.
They are not being deported to some strange country, they are flown back to their home country where they are actual citizens.
 
Sorry... The only way you could possibly know that is from watching the news. The only news agency that is reporting anything like that is Fox (and OAN, etc), everyone else tells a different story. So I don't believe a word of it. Remember, the news, even when all agencies are telling the same stories, are only telling you what they are allowed to report.

I don’t watch television, so I do not see what any news channel is reporting. I read news from different news sources online, so I can see the different reports that come out from different places.
I follow most of the government pages on X, so I am reading a lot of what comes directly from the government itself in their reports, and not what some media reporter tells us is happening.
It makes sense to me that if we are deporting a parent that they would have custody of their children and decide if they take them back home with them when they are deported back to their own country.
 
About a week ago leftist media had a meltdown claiming that a small child, born to an illegal alien mother and American father was sent out with the alien mother. There was some indecision by the parents over the child. Apparently mom was going to leave her here but no one could get ahold of daddy. Finally mom decided to take her along and that’s what happened. The child was born in this country so according to current law the kid is a citizen. The kid is documented. The American father can bring the kid back into the US anytime if he steps up and mom agrees.

Now 2 things:

This child should not be a political tool to try to make liberal points. That small child wanted mommy. Do you doubt that? The kid doesn’t know documented or not. He knows mommy and maybe daddy. So you say he was deported. He says he got to go with his mommy.

At the time I saw that story someone commented that if ICE had kept the child here the media would accuse us of kidnapping and sure enough less than a week later they found a case where a child stayed and that’s exactly what the media did.

It’s damned if you do and damned if you don’t from leftists.

The real truth is the leftwing Democrats never should have let millions of unvetted aliens into the country and these decisions wouldn’t have to be made. Funny, I don’t hear any concern at all for the unaccompanied children smuggled in and turned over to people they didn’t know. Where are they?

Maybe spare a thought for them instead of constantly accusing those who are sorting out Biden’s mess.
 
You are absolutely correct about this (in my opinion), @Susannah . No matter what the ICE people do when deporting illegals, the left complains about it, and flip-flops back and forth for each situation.
They complain that no one should be deported, illegal or not. They also say that people with autism are just regular people and we should love them as they are.
But then, they scream that Elon Musk (actually an American citizen) should be deported, and they call him names about his autism (an autistic XXXX) which are not repeatable on this forum.
 
Yep, fake news...like Biden's decline, Hunter's laptop, Wuhan origin of Covid. Anything said about them were declared by the media and government to be "Fake News" and all the claims proved to be true. If the government and the media declare anything to be fake news, it is more than likely true. The propaganda machine is struggling, but they still keep trying and some still believe what they publish.
 
Imagine if you will, if each “news” agency were to be placed in a room by themselves and given a copy of “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” to read and then write a news report on it as if it were a true story.
Now imagine how many would spin the report as though (1) Goldy, a lost, hungry and tired little girl simply needed help and entered the house out of pure desperation and how the bears, upon arriving back home chased and tried to kill the poor child or 2) how many would say she physically broke into the house, ate their food and ran when she was discovered sleeping in a bed?
Is there a (3), (4), (5) etc ? Sure there is because that’s what the majority of today’s MSM, particularly the liberal left wing, consists of. Just spins to fit an agenda.

The agenda? If this were a present day reality, the left would side with Goldy.
Virtue signaling is all the rage I hear.

Well, you have to fight a lot of rabble of various stripes.

Some are just gullible and adhere to the media narrative that sucked them in. Others have severe TDS. Others are more like James Carville and just in it because they are committed to "their team" if not tapped into a power structure. Some are globalists that want borders erased, either by personal philosophy or their own comfort in profiting from that. Some are tools of the enemy, a fifth column. Some contrarians who hate their country, hate their neighbors, and very likely hate themselves.

So a loose confederation of the corrupt, the selfish, the clueless, and the mentally damaged.

If they were separating other and child, they would bee denounced, but if they allow them to stay together, they are also denounced. It is a problem with the logic-handicapped.

I don't watch TV either, except for TV shows I have on DVD, and I still manage to get accurately reported news when I want it. You can watch news on online. In fact, just for you fake news lovers, there are Fox News channels from multiple different cities, if you know where to look for it.

But you know as well as I do, Yvonne, TV is only one way to get news.
 
I'm not sure how people presenting uncut and unedited video of an event that actually happens is anything but "accurately reported."

But leftist media are notorious for ghosting many events entirely or presenting them as carefully edited snippets in order to present a distorted "reality."
 
So, Leftist media CNN interviewed a member of a Mexican cartel apparently hoping for an anti-Trump sound bite or maybe sympathy for him. I don’t think that worked out very well but an article about it gave me an ah-ha moment.

It’s been hard for me to understand why all the Democrats and lefties are so determined to keep illegal alien criminals in the country. We’ve seen so many rapes, murders, robberies, serious crimes of all kinds, yet the leftists want to keep them.

CNN asked the following:

The reporter, who noted the segment was filmed in a secret Mexican hideout, then pressed the gangster on what he would say to Trump — with an unexpected response.

Who will be unhappy if the drug supply chain is interrupted? American consumers, of course. Who will want to keep them here? American distributors and users trying to save their business and recreational interests by stopping deportations any way they can, of course.

I wonder how many politicians are in business with the cartels.
