I actually love gardening, and even after it was not feasible to be rototilling and planting a garden, we used planter pots and grew things like tomatoes and cucumbers, and simple foods like that. Last year, we mostly had tomatoes and butternut squash. We got a few cucumbers, but for some reason, they just never grow well for me at this house.
Bobby got some creeping thyme to use as a ground cover, and I am also going to try starting some in the aerogarden and then transplant it into the little flowerbeds outside by the trees.
Back in Idaho, we had Oregon Grapes that grew wild, and they were the small variety that only got about 6” tall and spread under the trees. After reading about the roots and branches being a good source of berberine, I ordered some seeds for that, too, and am going to plant some outside and also start some in the aerogarden. The ones I ordered are the taller variety, so they will get 5-6 feet tall and I am not sure if they spread or not. If the birds eat the seeds, they will probably spread them around .
