What breed is your dog?![]()
Ahe was a rescue mixed breed. She is very intelligent but still a little neurotic.

Get a "summer cut" for the summer months and let the hair grow out for winter months. It does take money and time to take care of a pet and we found that out with our last dog and even with our Betta fish. Where we plan on moving to, an area with a winter, a short haired dog would have to wear winter "warmers".Cody, shih tzu dogs are beautiful but they have to have their hair cut regularly and/or be brushed every day. Haircuts cost an arm and a leg. Brushing them takes a lot of time and effort. A short haired dog will be less expensive and a lot less trouble.
Huskies are not good house dogs, at least for the normal house. We tried to make one of ours a "house dog" and she destroyed every electrical cord she could find. Too much energy to be house-bound. Our last dog was an Australian Shepherd that we rescued. He underwent some adjustment, but once we got used to the energy, he was great. We had livestock at the time, so he got plenty of exercise there, and when they left, he tried to "herd" moose. That nearly killed him several times, but he survived to died of some intestinal disease. No more Rescue or County Shelter dogs for us! Had a very bad experience with two Rescue dogs (Husky brother/sister) and a County Shelter dog (another Husky) that escaped from us three times.
It' been a good 16 years since those three dogs. Our next dog will be a female Shih Tzu less than 2 years old and we will call her Daisy. We already have a Play Pen, bed and toys.
Actually, believe it or not, we just ordered, for $19.00, a robot dog from Amazon. We'll see what happens there. LOL

A number of years ago, when we lived in northeastern Florida, we had a 5 gallon aquarium with a Beta in it, along with tiny shrimp and snails for cleaning the aquarium. Had a few live plants and a air pump. It got to be too much of a chore draining part of it and cleaning. And, besides that, the Beta didn't like the water and floated to the top. Sold everything.
A lot is written about allegens in dog food. Maybe try cooking human type meals for your pup. Meat and veggies. I used to mix canned mixed veggies with tuna for a few meals but hamburger and chopped veggies is good too.My 15 yr. old, rescue, gift from God, is more than a pet. This Welsh Border Collie, German Shepherd mix is the sweetest dog this side of heaven and my baby. Problems these days with the aging process, but, I care for her as though she is made of gold. Right now she is being treated for an undiagnosed allergen she picked up, and it has affected her legs. They itch, she scratches by biting into the skin and we are doing our best to cleat this up. She is cooperating nicely though.
