Do you have Pets?

Cody, shih tzu dogs are beautiful but they have to have their hair cut regularly and/or be brushed every day. Haircuts cost an arm and a leg. Brushing them takes a lot of time and effort. A short haired dog will be less expensive and a lot less trouble.
Get a "summer cut" for the summer months and let the hair grow out for winter months. It does take money and time to take care of a pet and we found that out with our last dog and even with our Betta fish. Where we plan on moving to, an area with a winter, a short haired dog would have to wear winter "warmers".

No more Rescue or County Shelter dogs for us! Had a very bad experience with two Rescue dogs (Husky brother/sister) and a County Shelter dog (another Husky) that escaped from us three times.

It' been a good 16 years since those three dogs. Our next dog will be a female Shih Tzu less than 2 years old and we will call her Daisy. We already have a Play Pen, bed and toys.

Actually, believe it or not, we just ordered, for $19.00, a robot dog from Amazon. We'll see what happens there. LOL

A number of years ago, when we lived in northeastern Florida, we had a 5 gallon aquarium with a Beta in it, along with tiny shrimp and snails for cleaning the aquarium. Had a few live plants and a air pump. It got to be too much of a chore draining part of it and cleaning. And, besides that, the Beta didn't like the water and floated to the top. Sold everything.
Huskies are not good house dogs, at least for the normal house. We tried to make one of ours a "house dog" and she destroyed every electrical cord she could find. Too much energy to be house-bound. Our last dog was an Australian Shepherd that we rescued. He underwent some adjustment, but once we got used to the energy, he was great. We had livestock at the time, so he got plenty of exercise there, and when they left, he tried to "herd" moose. That nearly killed him several times, but he survived to died of some intestinal disease.

I have to take my kitty to the Vet this morning to have a tooth extracted. Poor kitty.:( He has already had other teeth extracted in the last 6 months. The Vet said some cats have an overactive immune response to bacteria with dental plaque and treatment often requires dental tooth extractions for relief. Teeth cleaning has not helped him. I had to pick up his food and water last night because he wasn’t to have anything to eat or drink before his surgery. He has been begging me all morning with his sweetest meows and head butting. He is breaking my heart with his begging for food and water.💔

My 15 yr. old, rescue, gift from God, is more than a pet. This Welsh Border Collie, German Shepherd mix is the sweetest dog this side of heaven and my baby. Problems these days with the aging process, but, I care for her as though she is made of gold. Right now she is being treated for an undiagnosed allergen she picked up, and it has affected her legs. They itch, she scratches by biting into the skin and we are doing our best to cleat this up. She is cooperating nicely though.

A lot is written about allegens in dog food. Maybe try cooking human type meals for your pup. Meat and veggies. I used to mix canned mixed veggies with tuna for a few meals but hamburger and chopped veggies is good too.

A couple of months ago I posted here that I had 2 senior kitties and said I would maintain the 20 yr. old as long as possible. Well, his time ran out. It wasn’t fun for him anymore, it was becoming harder and he wasn’t happy.

He was a great kitty, lived more than 20, maybe a full 21, years and was a good boy all that time. It’s always hard but it was his time.

On the other hand my other good boy has been diagnosed with kidney disease and may have some other problems as well. He has had to undergo some lifestyle changes but he’s doing ok for now. He’s 14 and that also is a good long time for a cat. We will hang in for as long as he’s happy.

The bad times are how you pay for the good ones. I’m sad but glad to have had the good times. 🐈‍⬛

The only pet that I ever had that I truly loved was a cat. She could sense my emotions. Actually, I think she was telepathic. When a loved one died, she would be sympathetic. It's a long story so I'll let it go at that.

When she died, I cried so much that my son said, "Mama, please don't cry anymore."

Dogs are OK but I don't think they bond like a cat does.

Just dress for the occasion, like in armor. I have a new wound each day, nothing serious just scrapes and bruises. A few nose bump bruises in the ribs heal fairly fast.
But they are adjusting well and happy. Getty waits to say good morning to the deer every day. Maisie likes to chase squirrels. Foxy rules the house and Leo just watches all the things going on and rolls his eyes.

I miss my donkey,Rosie and my other ass too, both my equine and behind.:p

Rosie and a few grandkids about 27 years ago,Rosie wasn't having a good time. Our horse was.

yes and the scares and wounds to prove it, today I got scratch on my thigh, from Getty the Dogo jumping on me. But both her and Maisie are doing a lot better. Maisie the Golden never gets enough attention. Foxy the instigator and Leo the cowardly lion doesn't law as much so he is doing much better last couple years.
