Charlie Kirk has been shot apparently by a sniper 200 yards away. Charlie was giving a speech about trans people being involved in recent mass shootings when he was short at Utah Valley University. He was taken to a hospital and a suspect has been arrested.
 
They are reporting that Charlie Kirk has died from his injuries. Bobby said that the person they arrested was the wrong one, and they are still looking for the shooter.
This is a terrible thing, and is so reminiscent of the shooting of President Trump when he was speaking at the rally last summer. I saw the video of the shooting, and it looked like he was hit in the neck, and they didn’t have a report of how he was doing for a while, but now announced that he has died.

Charlie Kirk is not even a part of the government, but he is the founder and CEO of an organization called “Turning Point, USA”, and he has been speaking to college students at rallies across the country about the importance of patriotism, @Smithy.
He has a wife and children.

Apparently as @Bobby Cole noted, the announcement that a suspect was in custody is not true. The alleged shooter managed to elude police and security officials at the university. I may be wrong, but I suspect that this was done using a scoped rifle used perhaps for deer or elk hunting. Since only one shot was fired, it may even be a bolt-action rifle. I had read in the past that this type of assassination is what politicians really fear. Some rail against the automatic and semi-automatic guns, but an experience hunter could make this shot with the same rifle that is used for hunting.

It was a targeted attack and the getaway was apparently well-planned.

I will miss Charlie Kirk, as will many here in the U.S. He gave a voice to many who had been silenced.

RIP, Charlie Kirk. I must confess, I never watched any of his videos (and if I had, I suspect I wouldn't have agreed with him on much, knowing where he stood on the political spectrum). But I do know one thing: it is never acceptable to respond to one's political opponents with violence. He absolutely didn't deserve this - and his wife and two children most definitely didn't deserve this.

My condolences to his friends and family - and I hope the murderer is caught soon, and faces the full force of the law.
 
I think they have "the guy" now, but I haven't heard many details aside from "dark clothes."

But nothing about this suggests "crazy rando driven over the edge." Could be, sure, but not just anyone. It sounds like quite a shot.

Correction: I must have heard that wrong.

It appears that they have arrested at least two suspects, and then decided that they do not have the actual shooter both times. The first one they arrested apparently said that he shot him, but maybe people misunderstood what he was saying, and he just meant that Charlie had been shot ? In any case, they are holding him for obstruction.
There are posts online that suggest that something was going to happen to Charlie Kirk today, but that does not mean that they actually knew anything either.

Most of these seem to end up with the shooter dead, or they never find the shooter, so we never actually know what really happened, or who was responsible for the shooting and hired the shooter. It seems like this is going to stay in the news, and not just disappear like the Trump shooting did.
President Trump has ordered the flags lowered to half-mast until Sunday night, and also called for the death sentence once the shooter has been found and convicted.
 
No EMT, no ambulance on site. Very odd for an event of any size.

I've heard he was wearing body armor and the shot aimed at his heart bounced and hit him in the neck.

He was supposedly worried he was going to be killed. He had told friends that he feared Israel was going to kill him.

One guy they nabbed turned out to have a pellet rifle on him. Weird. Decoy?
 
The FBI has been looking at door cams and also Tesla car cams that might show a photo of the shooter, and they have published a picture of someone who they believe is the actual shooter, this time.
They think that he shot from the roof, jumped off, and then left the rifle a little ways away in the trees.

It is really looking like this was a professional hit, but they are trying to make it look like it was just some angry trans person. They said the rifle and bullet casings had trans stuff written on them, but I think that this is just another thing to mislead law enforcement. It appears that the bullet hit the armored shield and bounced off and went into the neck and hit either an artery or large vein.

It is shocking how many people were supporting of the assassination, and they posted it on social media; so people are contacting their employers and a lot of these people are already losing their jobs because of the posts.
Most people, left and right , are horrified that something like this can happen to an innocent person like Charlie Kirk, who was well-loved by people of all ages. Most of the colleges are also holding memorials for him.
VP Vance flew to Utah and met with Charlie’s family there, and he will be bringing the casket back home to Arizona in Air Force 2.

This is the guy they are now looking for.

It is being posted on social media that “internet sleuths” think the killer is a transgender person who goes by the name of Skye Valadez, and does look sort of like the same person (if you assume the face and not the female looks from the one facebook photo) that the FBI has posted as being the suspect they are looking for.
This person has a song that has been on their playlist for a while and it is called (literally) Charlie Kirk Dead at Age 31. Some 4-Chan people apparently came up with this person, and now it is spreading. The facebook page is there but totally empty now, which often happens with these murder suspects.

I've been hearing strong knee-jerk refutation of the involvement of any Israeli faction. From sources I'd tend to trust, but it came so fast and hard and negative (and before the "trans" stuff was floated) that I'm surprised.

Maybe they know something, or maybe they have blinders on in this regard. I can't say.

However I didn't make up what I had heard from a reasonably reputable journalist last night. Someone who was a lot closer to CK than most of them. Red herring? Could easily be I suppose.
 
Dozens of conflicting stories so far and a growing number of conspiracy type tales. On June 14, 2025, Minnesota state representative Melissa Hortman was assassinated in a shooting at her home in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. On June 14, Rep. Melissa Hortman, her husband and their golden retriever were shot and killed in their home. Quite a different response at Kirks shooting.
 
These career folks who work at the FBI, DOJ, DOD, State Department, Homeland Security, etc., are so methodical and disciplined. You don't notice it until you see the comparison with a bunch of inexperienced people as directors of these agencies. They're like little boys (and girls) that can't keep a secret. [I have this big important job now. I have security clearance. I know things that no one else knows. I got to tell someone first before someone else tells it.] It must be so frustrating to the rank-and-file employees.

For this thread, I'm thinking specifically about Kash Patel who said they had a suspect yesterday and they had to pull it back and look stupid. Hegseth and Signalgate stands out among the worst.

He has apparently turned himself in for the shooting, with counsel from his father and a pastor. People have been asking for the death penalty for the shooter when he was caught, but I think that they will not do that, especially if he pleads guilty.
Even Kohburger, who horribly murdered all of those college students just got life imprisonment, and I think that is what will happen here, too.

Probably, the liberals, who seem to support killers, who’ll want to set up a GFM for Robinson, but I do not know if that will be allowed or not. They were stopped from collecting money for other killers, but not all of them; so that remains to be seen.
 
I didn’t watch the whole video, but this guy is exactly right about what we have just seen happening. Charlie Kirk was not a politician, he was not a millionaire, he was just a regular person, like all the rest of us, and he had a wife and family, and a ministry with college students, and he was assassinated because of that.
People all over realized that it could have been ANY of us (or our loved ones) that was killed like that.

People read about other people like themselves (but with a different political viewpoint) saying that they were happy an innocent person was murdered for their beliefs, and realized that person would be happy if they were killed in the same way. Vets saw other vets being happy about the killing, and realized that people they thought of as friends would be glad if they were murdered, too, simply because they had different beliefs.

It is starting to come out that the shooter was part of a group on Discord (social media) that wanted Charlie Kirk assassinated, and he was not just a “lone wolf” shooter.
Other people in that group were involved, and it sounds like they might have provided the weapon and also were supposed to pick it up after he left it at the drop-off point, so this guy was maybe just a patsy that will take the blame for the shooting.

This might be why the FBI was called in, because i do not think that they always respond to a murder that just involves people in one state. But if this shooter was part of a group and was coached for the shooting, then it definitely is something the FBI would be looking at very closely.
 
There are still a lot of things hard to explain.

Video of him before the shooting shows him limping, gun down his pantleg. Yet video on the stairs shows no limping, no gun.

Video of him fleeing shows running, and no gun.

Yet the gun was "recovered" in the woods he had fled into?
