Be Thankful....and Say So!

I have become something of a fan of Joyce in recent years. When she talks about how she was called to a ministry at (I think) 45 years old, and the struggles it lead to, I was sold. I don't agree with everything she says, but most things speak to me. I personally think the only real prayer are those of thanksgiving, and, perhaps, contrition. Are you familiar with Andrew Henry? He has a YouTube channel titled Religion for Breakfast. He also teaches classes online, but I think they are behind a paywall. He doesn't just address Christianity but teaches more comparative religion in general.

A Christian friend of ours has been blessed by her teachings and videos for quite a while. My Wife likes her as well, and we have listened to her when we catch her on TV. I have never heard Andrew Henry, I will have to check him out. Thanks Don.

Henry is not a preacher, but rather a teacher. Very different from Joyce.

No offense, you can believe whatever you like, but rumor has it that she is worth over $8 Million. So I would be inclined to write her off as a typical TV Evangelist.

I'm thankful and I say so. But one of the things I am thankful for is the ability to know a Con when I see one...

"Come, Ye Thankful People, Come" was written by Rev Henry Alford in 1844.The tune is 'St George's Windsor by George J. Elvey, named for the chapel where Elvey was organist for 47 years. The tune has been associated with Alford's text since publication of the hymn in the 1861 edition of Hymns Ancient and Modern. It is performed here by The Scottish Festival Singers.

Come, Ye Thankful People, Come
