What's the best way of getting work? - Business leaflet posting through the doors?

I think the best way to get work is by word-of-mouth (or finger) advertising.

For instance, my son ate at a new restaurant while I was away this past weekend. He said the food was really good and the prices were reasonable. ..... not cheap but reasonable. I'll tell my friends and family that Bob went to Smithy's restaurant and said the food was really good and the prices were reasonable. They will tell their friends and family. They will post on Facebook, 'Aunt Sheryl said the Cousin Bob went to Smithy's new restaurant and said the food was good and the prices were reasonable."

So, if you can get one or two jobs and do an excellent job, the word will spread. You could give the first one or two a lower rate to get the word-of-mouth advertising. Just make sure they don't tell others that you work cheap.
