Operating system

Windows 11 on my desktop (meh) and I distro-hop various linux distros on my laptop, currently Pop_OS.

I formated my PC around 1 month ago and my PC didn't have the requirements for Windows 11 ( but looks like now is possible ? ) so i'm with the 10 .

New computer: Windows 11

Old computer, used only to read the NY Times: Windows 10

Long story short, primarily Windows 10 but also a Windows 11 machine I'm gradually moving to.

I've enjoyed my tower PCs with lots of media card slots and optical drives but that's soon in the past. I bought one of those compact systems you can even mount to the back of a monitor if you choose. For card readers, DVDs & CDs, extra storage I'll just rely on portable USB devices.

Too bad there is nothing in between. I'd love a "microtower" but when manufacturers introduced them they fell on deaf ears. Nobody makes them any more.

All that I have used , ever since I got my first iPad, is an iPad. It uses iOS operating system, and everything integrates between the iPad and the phone, and with a MacBook or iMac if you have one of those. And the Apple Watch, that syncs with everything else iOS also.
Even the Apple Magic Keyboard is made to work exclusively with apple tablets, plus you also have the AirPods and now the over the ear headphones as well.
I think that is what i love best about this operating system. Apple has thought of everything , and it all works perfectly together and does whatever the user needs it to do.

Nice looking machine @Yvonne Smith
I've never had an apple machine always had windows.

I'm currently using Windows 11 on my new laptop. It isn't too shabby.

My laptop runs Win10, and from the day I bought it five years ago I have called it "My Quirky Laptop". And that is exactly what it is. One day I can listen to music all day, the next day the sound is out. Then I can't watch any videos unless their silent. Then I figured out that if I restart it might clear those quirks up. Not always, but more often than not. Sometimes I have to leave it off for a few minutes.

But I use it because it runs of of a small 60w power supply, and my 27" monitor runs off of a 48w power supply it's very cheap to run. And I can use it for what I bought it for in the first place. To watch movies and TV on... At the moment, I'm binge watching Nikita, the CW TV Series. 😁

Better than windows 10? Windows 10 for seems a little buggy.
Honestly, I'm not familiar with windows 10. I've been using my iPhone 13 for the past few years. I recently just a new laptop after years of not having one. The last time I had one was in 2017, so I'm still learning the new OS.

Windows 11 on my new laptop. It takes some getting used to, but is nice and fast, and very efficient.

You should do a YouTube search for Bad Windows 11 Apps. It's bloated with spyware, malware, and Micro$oft has taken the choice away from you as to what you will allow on your computer. Start here:

But remember, there are a lot pf people out there who don't know as much as they think they do. So verify everything anyone says as if it sounds like it's a "Miracle Cure." It probably isn't.
