Do you like to garden ?

The ground here is finally getting to a usable moisture. Not mud and not crispy. So will start planting this week. I was pleased to see that the mulching killed off most of the weeds from last year. Deep layers of grass clippings on very wet ground. I can maybe just scrape it off and plant instead of turning the ground over in spots. I have seed potatoes ready and of course my beans. Daughter is a bit discouraged after last year but my hope springs eternal.:D

I got two raised bed containers from Walmart and Bobby put them together for me. I have one out in the front yard already. I did a lot of weeding yesterday, so I had a bunch of green stuff to use as filler in the container, and then we added some dirt on the top. It needs more dirt, so I will gradually add more as the underneath filler mulches down.
It is on a little slope which is hard to mow or even weedeat, so I am hoping to put some spreading lilies and other flowers there and let them take over the area.

I have seen people make wildlife ponds out of these containers they look great for both planting and a small pond.

This is one that does not have a bottom, so it would have to have a liner to be used as a pond, but a black plastic liner would probably work fine, or even one of those blue plastic tarps, since that would add the blue color to the water.
We are still in the early planning stages, so we have not decided mush about what we can use yet. If we use something that sits on the ground, then we would not have to do a lot of digging, and if I plant some irises or other greenery around the outside, then whatever the pond is made of would be hidden in the plants.
