What are you doing right now?

Having my morning coffee, with the kittens scampering around under my feet and playing on the furniture. Warmer again today, supposed to hit 72, so I have plans for later to go outside. The big freeze killed the banana tree and all the cannas and the Moonflower vine, so I need to take out my pruners and cut the dead ones back.

Sorry about the trees and flowers , too bad you live so far, I have a extra Banana tree and lots of Canna Lillys I could give you. I'm always giving away flowers and aloe vera, umbrella plants away. They reproduce so much here.

We have lots of cannas, but they do not overwinter here, so as soon as we get the first hard freeze, we loose everything for the rest of the winter. Next spring, they will come back from the roots, but since they die back each year we never get any bananas on our banana plant.
Our banana tree was about 15 feet tall this year, becasue we have had it several years now, and it seems to grow larger each year. The other picture is some of the cannas in the back yard.
I think I may put a banana start out there next year if ours has baby plants in the spring.
Do you harvest bananas from your banana trees, @Marie Mallory ?

I’m sitting in my recliner in the lounge room of our home , with my iPad …the 6 pm news has just finished

Jake likes to watch the 10pm news, ABC David Muir. Jake said Muir gets right to the point. it doesn't matter to me that much but I don't like to watch the course and common big mouth woman on Fox, no etiquette.

Not so much. Day started damp and gloomy, not really drizzly but staying damp. So I'll just let the leaf piles I made yesterday sit. At least the damp will help keep them in place as gusty winds on the way arrive here later.

No snow left now, but all bets seem to be we're expecting quite a season. My small electric snowblower has done well for me. Since today is quite warm despite the damp I might take it out and spray it down with silicone I use to discourage wet snow sticking and packing up inside it.

The blower came with a 5 amp-hour battery. Not a cheap item but I want a spare this year, if only to extend usage time per cycle if required. Found an "upgraded" 6 aH battery but had to back-order it. Also found a 3rd-party 4 aH replacement and I have that in hand already and now charged up for 1st use.

The money adds up, but sadly these batteries aren't "universal" so it's best to have a few and extend the life of the snowblower. When the big battery arrives I may just store it away for future use when needed some day. To late to cancel, it seems to be on the way already.

I got a lot done considering, cut some large vines from the ground and pulled down some old ones I cut a few years ago.
Still lots of tree limbs from the hurricane a year or so ago. Those can be dangerous if they come loose and fall.

Chilly and breezy so I didn't feel like getting outside, but sunny and dry so I did it.

Huge leaf piles, drying out, so subject to blowing and leaving me to pile them again. So I got to grinding and made my way through 2/3 of one giant pile at least. Another couple of hundred pounds of finely-chopped leaves dumped out back. Not much choice with only two more pickups remaining this year. I only have so many barrels to hold leaves over until Spring.

I hope it composts down some. I have low places I could stand to fill with some soil Just something else to keep working at I guess.

I shouldn't whine though. There are worse things to deal with and it got me up, out, and active for a bit.

To answer the query in the most honest way possible:
I’m somewhere between actually doing something that I’m not presently doing and procrastination concerning what I could be doing versus what I am presently doing which is almost nothing.

I was in the middle of doing something when I argued with myself stating the obvious validity and value of doing nothing ergo my present state of physical dormancy.
Be it ever so humble, there’s no place like my chair.

Brought the trash can in from the curb, late but I got to it today. :ROFLMAO:

Very gloomy day, damp but not rainy and few snowflakes. Hardly did anything else outside today but get the mail after blowing a few leaves away from my front door.

Not bitter cold, little wind, but so dark it just seemed completely uninviting outside all day.

Nice here, but supposed to have some rain today, which is a good thing, we need some rain. I just let the dogs out so they can get their running around done before the rain starts. It says high of 75 again today, and looks like it will stay warm through Thanksgiving. I am planning on doing some outside gardening today unless it rains all day.
