What video are you watching on YouTube?

The video I watched was Mrs Winterbourne. Also Victor Victoria.
I am kind of surprised (not really) that I stay with older stuff. I don't mind repeats.
 
Still watching this one we've been watching for several years now.
They went from traveling around America in a van, then motorhome to leaning to captain a boat and going around the world, now they are back on land fixing a ban camper till they decide what kind of boat they want next.

 
I'm watching a new couple react to each episode of The Expanse, probably the greatest bit of television ever made. So much to say where about we might go if we don't correct our course, so much to say about the kind of politics we have found ourselves entangled in. Yet with great hope for mankind and people who do right and reap benefits rather than being pounded down.

I've watched it so many times myself that I now enjoy it vicariously by watching newbies react to it for their first time.

I can sum it up in one sentence.

It's petty, childish, and mostly false oppositional opinions from all sides, based on external fake news coming from what I always refer to as Anti-Social Media.

Remember how Conservatives and Liberals didn't always agree, but they worked together for the betterment of America. And in the last 40 years or so all that changed. What changed everything? The advent of the Internet, and unlimited, anonymous registration for Anti-Social Media accounts. I used to think that Americans were the smartest people in the world. The Internet disproved that a long time ago.

Thanks to a world-wide pandemic, it's now ever easier than that. Just wear a mask.

My old pain management Doc in Eureka had a medical assistant that was hired after the lockdown and the mask mandate. When I was in the hospital, after they finally took me off of the Covid Isolation list, I was being transferred to hospital #2 and as I was being wheeled out to that ambulance I saw them in the hallway. I asked to stop so I could say goodbye. I asked him "Is this your wife?" He grinned and said nothing, but she smiled and said "Don't you recognize me? I'm his medical assistant." I had never seen her face, and without a mask, there was no recognition at all.

In my opinion, the election of Ronald Reagan. During his dotage er, tenure, the Deep State began to thrive far beyond what Eisenhower worried about after WW II.

This brought the Uniparty to prominence under Clinton, where we got NAFTA, the Telecommunications Act of 1996, and other tools of British Imperialism wielded through London banks and Wall Street.

I don't understand your railing against a medium that allows people to communicate in spite of a faction-controlled media conspiracy. You seem to be suggesting people would be better off with their heads down grazing in pastures, quietly lowing moOOoo.

What did I read wrong? :unsure:

I'm not sure that the stores targeting people with face recognition are going to be keen on that.

But you never know, and it may work on the streets as communities install more "CCTV" and apply facial recognition for tracking. I think the guy in the video said it had already been tested by cops in New Orleans even though they have an ordinance against it.

A simple comment based on my opinion is hardly "railing against" anything. I assume you're referring to my comment about fake news on the Internet and what I call Anti-Social Media. You probably noticed I'm not exactly Trump's biggest fan. Be that as it may, I've have not made it personal. I don't play that game.

If I were to believe everything that Democrats say about Trump, I might think that something he did caused him to "explode", "be destroyed politically", "have a meltdown" and other such nonsense a dozen times a day. Does any of that happen? No.

For one example, since this thread is about videos, I see videos on YouTube that the titles are clearly Democrat Clickbait, and absolutely false. Surely you could agree that such activities do not show them to be the smartest people in the world. Or, perhaps they are? I believe the real purpose of these videos is to get Democrats to click on the video and watch them to the end? Why? To make money.

Are people supposed to believe a word of that nonsense? They don't care if you believe it, and long as you click on the video, watch it to the end, hit the Like and Subcribe buttons, and sign up for notifications so you can be alerted when more false Democrat Clickbait videos are posted. Some YouTube Channels are Monetized, others are not. But just because they're not doesn't mean they aren't making bank.

On the other side of the highway, there are many Republicans doing the same thing. I'm not saying I see more of that on one side or the other, but I see enough of it on both sides to keep my distance from both. I have what I think is a nice balance of Conservative and Liberal opinions. I think I got that way from my Dad. If you asked him about it, he would say "I'm a Conservative Liberal and Liberal Conservative all rolled into one," and 50 plus years later, that pretty much describes me as well.

So that is a more in depth explanation of how I feel about Social Media. And specifically, I consider that stuff specifically to be "Anti-Social Media", but not all Social Media is Anti-Social Media. Technically this forum is Social Media. If I thought it was Anti-Social, I would have left shortly after I arrived.

I may disagree with some of your beliefs the same as you disagree with some of mine. That's the way it used to be, before the haters started fanning the flames of discontent.

But remember, this is my opinion, and that is all it is. My opinion.

I laughed the other day when I went into my credit union and a sign on the door required entrants not wear a mask, a hood, a backpack...I remember the requirements to wear a mask only a few years ago. It was at this time everything changed. More scams, abuse of the internet, abuse of the border, huge increases in inflation, crime...Of course the internet helped.
 
According to the WHO, there were 589 deaths in the US from Covid in June. That's the highest number in the world. Thailand and India came is a distant second and third with 152 and 102 respectively. But while that is sad, at least that part could have been prevented.

This interview about the state of things and near future in the UK is:
  • painfully long at an hour and a half,
  • painful in the shy and halting presentation by the guest, and
  • painful in its predictions of likely outcomes.
I think Betz tries very hard to choose his words here. I'm sure he doesn't want to become a target of violence, canceled, deported, jailed... or disappeared.

The hosting interviewers seem to pin an unwarranted level of hope on current changes in the domestic political landscape. I think they want to believe that America's renaissance can be repeated at home. While the guest doesn't push this issue he seems to mutter, shake his head a little, and "look away."

I don't think Betz believes politicians have the ability or even really the will to make necessary adjustments. In the US we've heard "hope and change" before.

I believe nothing from the WHO. Nor little from stats from the US on Covid. My lawyer and friend was one of the first to 'die from covid' in our town. The news article failed to mention he had cancer and his wife had just died in a car accident. A motor cyclist was brought in having died in a crash and our hospital claimed he died from covid. Hospitals were paid for covid deaths. So numbers were inflated.
I have never had covid but know many who got it after the shots and boosters.
