When I was getting an aerogarden herb kit, one of the seeds it came with was the Shiso. I had never heard of it either, and looked it up on YouTube. I started some in the aerogarden and planted it outside, it grew almost 2-3 feet tall and then went to seed. Then, last year, it came up on its own and covered the whole area where I was growing it.
Last fall, I scattered more of the seeds around in other parts of my yard, so i am hoping it will come up in other places also. It is a really pretty plant and is good to eat like spinach.
