When looking at your TV right now what is it showing?

My TV is showing Good Morning Britain.

Good morning, Britain. Up early and need to catch up on the latest news, weather and sports? Then this weekday morning programme is for you, offering the latest information in such areas as entertainment, health and money.
`Good Morning Britain' is the typical morning news and talk show

I'm about to put in the DVD for season 1, episode 1 of Star Trek Deep Space 9.

It took a while to track down good prices on the original release DVDs for all 7 seasons, and season 7 was more than I really wanted to pay (it's rare now, and I got the last one Amazon had). But I wanted new copies, and not re-release sets which were encoded with more compression so they'd fit on cheaper single-layer DVDs.

DS-9 is a different sort of show than most of the franchise.

Since Cindy was disabled and went directly from her wheelchair to her bed, I bought her a 44" TV to use as a monitor for her PC. Since it was a Smart TV, which after the last one I bought, she could watch movies and TV from our cable on it. She loved that TV. Since I had no plans to get cable again, and I was using my 13 year old LG monitor on my computer, I gave it to my daughter. She moved out of our building a few months later, and like a lot of her stuff, it ended up in our spare bedroom.

I have come to believe that "Smart TV" means it had some really stupid features. My last TV was a very disappointing 43" LG. I have had many LG products and I thought it was a safe brand. But I hate that TV. It has a "Magic Remote" (read: "Air Mouse") feature, that is almost impossible to use. If you're even remotely twitchy like I am, it is useless. When I try to use it, I can't hold it still, even with both hands, and since you have to point it strait at the TV, it doesn't work. So I went to Walmart and bought the cheapest universal remote they had and it replaced the "Magic Remote" quite nicely. I guess nobody told them that Magic is "all smoke and mirrors", as the old saying goes...

But since my daughter moved and her Mom's TV has been sitting in our spare bedroom for almost two years, I packed up the LG and put in there and got Cindy's out. It is a much better TV, and that universal remote works on it as well.

Goodness gracious! My tv is OFF!!! What is to become of me?
That is not the norm here. ;)
