What do you think of fast food restaurants?

When my ex and I took the kids on vacation we tended to prefer the middling "sit down" places, local if possible or else a Big Boy.
Big Boy's are one of those middling "sit down" places. They're good, but only one step up from Denny's.

Swiss Miss burger (swiss cheese, onion, rye bun).
Did you get some Swiss Miss with your Swiss Miss?

One time he sat in the car and sulked while we went inside to eat. :ROFLMAO:
My daughter was going to do that once, at an A&W restaurant up on Whidbey Island in Washington. It was 7:00p and told her she needed to think about three things. 1. What time is it? 2. What time do we normally have breakfast, unless something slows us down. 3. How many hours is that between now, and a possibility for having breakfast. Then the rest of us went inside. I stopped to talk to a homeless guy outside for a moment.

She sat there for about ten minutes, by which time everyone else was about to start eating. So she comes on I handed her $5 and she ordered a burger, fries and a Coke. About that time the rest of us were done and we got up to leave. She whined "I'm not finished yet." So I told she could finish in the car, which I know she hated doing. She started to say something and I cut her off, "You could have come in and ate with the rest of us, but you chose to sit in the car. So now you can eat in the car, or you can give it to the homeless guy outside."

On her way out, she looked at the guy, then ran to the car. I got out and handed the guy $10 as promised... 😁

I think he did enjoy Dogpatch though...
I went there with my family when I was a kid so I can relate to that! I had an Aunt who lived in Marquette. I loved it up there on the lake shore.

We have to keep improving production to feed a growing population. Same thing with crops. The population is increasing but the land area to produce food isn't.

I don't think fast food restaurants like McDonald's, KFC, Burger King, Subway, etc should be banned, but I feel they need to curb the number of these places within a given place.

In some areas, you can have more than one of the same restaurants, and that can be a little too much.

One of the fast-food places added a salads a few years ago for people who wanted to eat healthy. They actually had a good salad. They must not have sold many though because they discontinued them.

While they are unhealthy, they are a source of food for a lot of impoverished people, so no.
Exactly, and at the same time, sometimes they give the only community support their communities get. For example, about maybe 20 years ago in Eureka, Dutch Bros Coffee opened two stands, and they gave tons of money to the community. Of the rest of Coffee stands in Eureka, none of them came close to matching the community service of Dutch Bros.

Each person has to decide whether they want to eat fast food that is considered harmful to your health, or Eating the healthiest fast food on the menu.
Prevention Magazine has a list of healthier fast food meals that can be selected from the menu. See the link below.
One example is Chick-Fil-A's Market Salad, or Starbucks Egg & Cheddar Protein Box. They list items that are on the Mcdonald's and Burger King menus.

Thanks for the link @Tony Page

I LOVED fast food restaurants over the years. I ate at McDonalds all through college. i took my kids there for birthday parties--so easy, fun and no clean-up. I liked extra crispy chicken at KFC and burritos at Taco Bell. But they slowly went down hill. Burger King's flame grilled Wopper became a disgusting disc of meat filled with smoke flavored seasoning. And through covid till now all became horribly expensive. I have not been to any of them for years, though.
