We're Bathing Dogs, On New Bathing Table

Started off with the worst, female Hercules aka Getty the Dogo.
I was laughing and Jake started some stuff, a good example of a bad idea! He said I sound like a mutt,

Foxy was having a nervous breakdown watching, now its her turn. I don't think they like being restrained high up on a table. I'm about to hose Jake down to cool him off!! I bet the dogs would like to see it,lol.

2 clean dogs, 2 more to go, tomorrow, 2 is enough for one day, a fighter and a screamer. I dried the wiggle worms.

Jake apologized for not appreciating my laugh, then took his bp, it was 158-98- 96. So he took a bp pill.

Well, Poodle is bathed and clipped now, too,, so that chore is done for a while. He knows that when he gets groomed, his bologna treat is coming afterwards, so he looks forward to that part of the procedure.
Yesterday, I gave him his bath and brushed him, and then he got his bologna treat, and tonight he got his coat trimmed down a little. In the summer, i clip it pretty short, because he needs bathed more often and it is easier to do with a short coat, and in the winter, I let it grow out to keep him warm.
The nights are fairly warm right now, but he does have his Poodle-Jamas that he can wear to bed if it turned cold at night again.

When I was a kid, I had a Border Collie named Boots, so named because all four feet were black. He was an outside dog, but lived in my dad's garage / workshop in the winter. When he needed a bath, I dumped a little soap on his back, and hosed him down. He loved playing in the hose water so he didn't think of it as a bath, he was having a grand ol' time.

Now that summer is here, and the fleas are outside, I have to use flea spray on Poodle, and he gets a bath ( or at least a rinse off) several times a week. I got some of the head and shoulders shampoo, because it has the ingredient that kills fleas and ticks, and it comes as a shampoo/conditioner all in one, so it is easy to use for his bath.

I am also ordering some peppermint oil from Amazon, because i read that it repels insects and should be good to help keep bugs out of the house as well as fleas off of the dogs.
Poodle is clipped short all over for the summer now, too. Here he is , relaxing in my chair, which is one of his favorite places also, and especially sitting on my lap when I am in the chair.

Just bathed Getty the Dogo very strong one. It was no fun. But she really needed a bath, I took pic's of her spots and eye's. She is no fun to photograph, so 'spastic!
Her ears and nails were past due for cleaning and clipping and she smelled really bad. She is a yard dog now but still visits the porch more than in the yard.

Getty has pinkish poka dots all over her, most you can only see when she is wet, like now.All her skin is pink.
Not sure how she ended up at the shelter, she is very intelligent and great watch dog. She doesn't miss a thing.

Yesterday all the dogs got a much needed bath, nails clipped, ears cleaned. Jake and I needed a bath once it was over.
I've been treating Gettys thigh rash from running. I used coconut oil, not so good so I rubbed oatmeal on them and she looks better this morning, almost completely healed.

Another good example of letting " food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food".If that doesn't work ,of course go to the doctor.

I still keep bag balm on hand in the bathroom, and use it on both myself and the dogs or cats if they get a scrape. That is some of the best healing stuff i have ever used !
Back when I had livestock, I was always needing it for some critter or myself.

I am using aloe vera, oatmeal, Hot Spot on Getty for heat rash between her legs, she runs so fast and hard I guess but not sure real reason. I don't have any balm maybe I need to get some.
