"Note: Ichikyuppa is a Japanese slang for the number 1980. Japan was at the peak of economic status at the year 1980 and is remembered as the golden age of Japan, thus the number 1980 relates to having wealth and happy lifestyle for Japanese people. Even today, some Japanese companies use this number to market their products."

Coincidentally I was in Japan in 1980. Plain coffee was $2.00 per cup and no refills, in the tourist districts. With inflation that would be $8.20. I guess you can pay that much for coffee here now if you want to. I remember at that time the Japanese were not allowing large chain grocery and department stores, and places like Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, to operate there, because they wanted to keep the mom-and-pop stores vibrant and healthy. I think that has changed now.
