Walking

The only walking I do is to my cat's grave in my garden. I can't go out due to agoraphobia.

Two years out from my 96 day hospital nightmare, I can finally walk using my chair as a walker, from my apartment door to the near side of the building, then back past my apartment to the far side of building then back home. That's 200 yards, the equivalent of two US football fields. I measured it with a stepper, and according Google (the Great Oz of Search Engines) it is 240 average stride steps for someone my height, 6'.

So if I drive over to Bakersfield and go to Panorama Park, I can enjoy a nice hike. And if I take sit breaks to enjoy one of two nice views around here, the other being the sunsets and city lights at night from the same spot, just facing the other way,I might be able to go farther.

Interestingly enough, my new Doc that I saw the other day asked me If I wanted an electric wheelchair... I might have to look into that. 🧑‍🦼 Zoom Zoom...
