Video from Democrat Congress members actually WAS illegal

The recent video put out by Democrat members of Congress apparently violates U.S. code 18 (I think) and can be considered incitement to disobey orders and mutiny. The speakers now appear to be backing down and even a number of Democrats are appalled at what was done. Can you imagine the response if such a thing had been done when the Biden Administration was weaponizing the Intelligence and Judicial arms of the U.S. military against Trump since the Democrat speakers included the Intelligence areas of government in their call to rebellion? Those were the very areas used by Democrats to spy on Republican Senators, Congressmen and donors under the last administration, so they are fully aware of what can be done by those branches of government. Violation of Code 14 supposedly carries a 10-year prison sentence if convicted. It is not treason but is considered sedition.

What's frustrating is the lack of any way to safely indicate your displeasure to these Deep State Operatives holding office. I'm not sure even the most carefully crafted email checked over by a lawyer for your safety would fall on anything but deaf ears.

Even confrontation in person through organized protest would be either edited out of existence or else spun into another "January 6th" or "Good People" opportunity for persecution and prosecution by the corrupt "news media."

Hopefully their seats are no longer anywhere near as secure as they believe them to be. Sedition isn't a very good look in a political campaign. Perhaps they are all term-limited and no longer care? I haven't looked into it.

It sounds like the goal is to hamstring local and State police, Federal law enforcement, and the military so that there is nobody able to oppose and contain mass insurrection and looting.

I hope not. The alternative would be volunteer private militias to keep order. There is far too much to go wrong with that. The neo-Confederacy is going too far.

The military DOES get that that training and the people in that demonstration know that. It was trying to incite mutiny, but it was also partly a trap for Trump and he stepped right into that just as the Dems did with the prolonged shutdown.

The shutdown may have ended up doing good for the democratic in the coming elections. The republicans were in charge, so they blamed by most. Also, people are asking republican, what is your plan for healthcare? Republicans will have to come up with something. The midterms are coming, and Marjorie Greene (now retiring) now says republicans will likely lose control of congress.

I'm pretty sure the Administration has been trying to address health care by controlling costs. Things like reining in Big Pharma charging US residents high prices in order to subsidize other markets, tackling illicit drug usage, etc.

But I think this particular "wuddabout" is referring to welfare. Health care freebies, subsidies, and special carve-outs funded on the backs of taxpaying workers.

As long as we are "wuddabouting" now, I'm more concerned personally by the Democrats' plan to "means test" Social Security COLA. They are already income-taxing away a large chunk, last year Biden handed Double-Dippers a big windfall, and then you have the punishing Medicare IRMAA. I haven't collected a dime in benefits yet, and start to wonder if anything will even be there once I do. I'm staring down age 70 now and things don't look good before I even get there.

The police take an oath, not so much on a national level, more so local.

The military oath is national, protect against foreign and domestic enemies.

The posters are not the ones who may suffer the consequences. Like many in Congress, they want to change others circumstances but not their own. The quickest way to solve Medicare, Social Security, and other programs would be to make Members of Congress live under them. That was the intent of the Founders, but the lawmakers since have exempted themselves from many of the laws they pass.

I agree that the Democrats might have be trolling Mr. Trump with that video. He can dish it out, but he can't take it. It makes him do things that makes one question his mental health. (TDS)

Yes. Everyone knew Mr. Trump would never give permission for the Republicans in Congress to support anything that had the name Obama associated with it, but there might have been a few who would break ranks. The Democrats called it off just in time for Thanksgiving travel not to be disrupted.

In the meantime it showcased that the president is willing to fight all the way to the SCOTUS to keep from using already allocated emergency funds to help support SNAP during the shutdown. The agreement they reached will at least take SNAP funding as leverage off the table in the next round in January.

It is not mutiny to refuse an unlawful order.

In 1969, the U.S. Court of Military Appeals ruled that there was no justification to follow orders if "the order was of such a nature that a man of ordinary sense and understanding would know it to be illegal."

The Manual for Courts-Martial has adopted that Court Order in the Rule 916(d) Obedience to orders, which states "It is a defense to any offense that the accused was acting pursuant to orders unless the accused knew the orders to be unlawful or a person of ordinary sense and understanding would have known the orders to be unlawful."

So there you have it, strait from the Uniform Code of Military Justice Manual for Courts-Martial. I'm sure that's what they are basing that video on. I'm also sure that everyone involved knew Trump would dispute it. He disputes everything he disagrees with, whether he has any evidence to backup his claims or not.

Members of the military are however, not required by any law to disobey unlawful orders, only lawful ones. But if they decide to carry out an unlawful order when they know it is unlawful, they should consider that in many cases, Presidents may have immunity, but they do not. But they should also remember, Presidents have enormous power, even when they use it legally.

So no... The video made no false statement and is not illegal.
