The Russia-Ukraine War is a battle between siblings almost. While the Leadership of both nations hate the other, I think most Ukrainians and Russians just want the war to stop and allow them to get back to their normal lives. Ukraine was part of the Russian Empire for years before the Soviet Union was formed, although the Ottomans occupied Crimea. When Russia decided to invade Crimea, the result was the Crimean War, a war that set the standards of combat for the U.S Civil War a few years later. Crimea I think was the origin of the war correspondent and the Red Cross under Florence Nightingale and professional nursing as a career. "The Ukraine" was a region before it became "Ukraine" by separating form the Russian Federation after the fall of the USSR, and has always been something of the sibling that, though relied upon for food production, was always pushed tp the side by the Russians.
