Tooth Abscess

I have a lower wisdom tooth abscess I have been to the dentist and they have referred me to hospital dentist because the wisdom tooth has broken to the gum line which for a normal dentist person it's too much of a big job.
I am taking ibuprofen 400g and amoxicillin 500mg.

The dentist referral can take up to 18 weeks to give me an appointment.
I have been told the antibiotics will only stop the spread of the tooth abcess but not get destroy it?

Will this mean I will have 18 weeks of pain, tooth abscess?

One thing that will help stop the pain and infection is taking massive amounts of Vitamin C and B-Complex. Take 500mg of vitamin C and the largest B-Complex vitamin capsule that you can find, and take one of each with some water every 4 hours.
In 24 hours, some of the infection should be gone, and you will not be in as much pain. With the tooth broken that badly, it is probably still going to have some pain and swelling until the doctor can fix it, but it should help get rid of the abscess.

I learned this from my mother.
It worked for her when she had a terrible abscessed tooth, and it has worked for me, too. You can’t overdose on either of these vitamins, so just keep taking them every 4 hours for as long as you need to.

USUALLY if you can stop the infection, it stops the pain. I guess if there is a situation where a nerve is being pinched it might be different. I've had cases where after an antibiotic, the tooth never bothered me again for months. See what happens. If the pain comes back soon after the antibiotic course has finished, maybe you can make another appointment and convince them to speed up the appointment. Just my experience, fwiw. Hope you're doing better.

I am feeling a lot better but I am still taking strong antibiotics I can manage any other pains but toothache is the worst especially with an abscess.
We would be lost without medications.

I hope the pain does not come back before I have the wisdom tooth taken out.

Glad you're feeling better. Hope it lasts. And yeah, I often think what it must have been like before antibiotics.
