The Story is in the Song…

1972 I worked a couple months in a Navy town, Jax Fl. at a strip club back then was called a tiddy bar, although I was fully clothed bar tender. Lots of sailors came into the club.
I had 3 toddlers 1,2 almost 4 at home and the money was more than I made at restaurants. Their 'father' left us with rent due.
The song Brabdy played a lot in that club.
Some of the strippers were on drugs and I was like their nursemaid when they got sick or OD.I felt bad for them. They didn't realize their worth.
The song always reminded me of them.

'Cats In The Cradle' and WOLD' both by the late great Harry Chapin.
All this time I thought Cat Stevens wrote and sang the song, 'Cats In The Cradle' just seen it was Harry Chapin who wrote and performed the original song, I also now remember Harry singing it.

Sadly, yes, Marie. He was a storyteller of the highest order in song, right up there with Gordon Lightfoot.

Another great song writer and storyteller was Kris Kristofferson. Most of his songs were a story of one kind or another, and I live his gravelly voice.

Always liked this song, I like his and his sons voice.
I tried to name the famous landmarks in the video, I did get most of them.
