Without even looking at the rainforest destruction and near-slave labor in Central and South America, or the diversion of water to the deserts of California, or the who-knows=what in China...

... this is a problematic food, salad and cooking oil, and cosmetic ingredient.

And, as Mick Dundee says, "Ya kin eat 'em. But they taste like dung."

And watch out for potential potassium overdosing if you have any cardiac or electrolyte health issues.

Actually, Dr. Berg is not against avocados, just what happens to them when they are processed into something besides a real food. When avocado oil is processed, it is done similarly to how seed oils are processed, with the chemicals and high heat used, so it is no longer the healthy fat that an avocado actually has.

An avocado, just like a pear, needs to be perfectly ripe for a person to enjoy eating it. If it is too green, it is hard and bitter, too ripe, and it is soft and mushy, and almost a rotten taste to it.
When it is just barely ripe, it is a beautiful yellow green, and the skin is slightly soft when pushed gently with your finger. Unless you have tasted one that is perfectly ripe, you have not actually tasted an avocado.

Ripening them with gas is another thing that Dr. Berg objects to, and it is better to just buy the green and hard avocado and then let it sit out on the counter and check it each day until it is ready to eat.
But, like any other food, it is a matter of taste.
My mother loved avocados, so I started eating them when I was just a little girl; but I do not remember my dad ever eating one, so I think that he didn’t like them, even though we always had the perfectly ripe ones.

Yes, I got that. I was curious who would watch any of the video ( :p ) but then you might already know his opinions on this anyway.

The problem isn't with all avocados, just the way many are grown and handled on their way to our kitchens and restaurant tables.

But they still taste bad!

I like Dr. Berg, and agree about the avocadoes. I stopped eating them now, we don't know what to believe anymore though.
