I think we're in that period right now with Google a.i. where they are trying to get you hooked on it. Remember how LED light bulbs used to last a long time? Now that most people have converted to them, they don't. Once folks get used to searching through a.i. it will likely start to feature advertising and lead you toward buying a product, or be behind a paywall, or both. The price will go higher. Just like TV has evolved. It all boils down to money eventually.I try to steer away from AI in general. I find nothing innocent about AI....not one thing.

I am not sure what I am looking at.....find it confusing.I'm going to glue together all the new fittings in this bathroom sink drain, except where the tailpiece of the faucet connects. It may cause trouble down the road, but I like puzzles. I don't like the cheap plastic screw together slip joints.
I had to take apart a sink drain to retrieve a contact lens in 1970. Since then, I've never had to take one apart for any reason except to fix a slip joint leak, or replace a faucet. Code requires a clean out tee. This is silly (I got into a heated argument with Google A.I.), but I will do it.
While procrastinating, I figured a way to double back to the drain under the floor of the vanity, which will free up a lot of storage space. Next is to dry fit everything. I found a piece of plywood big enough for the floor, but don't have the faucet yet. I don't particularly like any of the new faucets, and it's hard to find one without the new push-button drains. However, they do sell good quality replacements if the pop-up goes bad, unlike the old style.
Does anyone have experience with push-button drains?

The lower Tee is a cleanout, and the upper red "ball" is a vent? You have to use your imagination. That was just the layout of the fittings in order. They have to be connected by little chunks of pipe. The ruler is the floor of the vanity. How about this?

Yes. Both are required by code. The old setup had neither, in addition to an illegal S-trap. I'm sensitive about being up to code, because I don't know what I'm doing, and don't want it to be obvious if I ever have to call a plumber. He might call the plumbing police. LOLThe lower Tee is a cleanout, and the upper red "ball" is a vent?![]()
