Police say there are both "injured and deceased" in the incident on Valhallavagen street, near the University of Technology.
Swedish media reported several fatalities, however police have not confirmed any numbers.
According to Reuters, the vehicle hit a bus stop in central Stockholm. The cause of the crash is not yet known.
In a statement, police said: "At this time, the police are not commenting on the number, gender or ages of those affected."
It added: "Police, rescue services and ambulance are working at the scene and due to the operation, Valhallavagen is closed between Odengatan and Engelbrektsgatan."
