River photos.

Tomorrow will be a warm sunny day, So we will take the Gorilla and the large spastic on their first river boat cruise.
Jake said, 'oh great a cripple and 4 dogs to the boat dock'.
I still need help walking from pulled or torn muscle.
But this may be our last warm winter day this year and we want to take Getty and Maisie down the river. Foxy and Leo have been down it several times so they are ok.

It's also our 43rd wedding anniversary too. So it will be a good way to celebrate it. Here is a few photo of our last river ride; been a while.

It started to rain hard that day and the sun was out.

This Lady was at the campground, on top her van that morning; so we snapped a photo.

Maisie and Getty did good riding in the rear bed of the truck, fastened to eye hooks with their harnesses, with me , Marie drove the truck, she wanted to go fast but I told her to go slow. lol I was surprised how good the two of them did. Leo and Foxy will ride in the rear king cab with Marie and I.

Getting ready for the trip, y'all wish us luck.Yesterday we hooked them up on the eye hooks in the pickup. They did good so maybe they will be ok on the boat hooked up.
We will take pictures.

Have a fun day, Marie and Jake, and I am looking forward to the stories of how everything went, and pictures from the trip .

Made it back, but it was a very trying day, "for all of us".

Getty's first boat ride and when we were on the way she chewed ropes off, after passing some barking dogs, and then jumped out of the back of truck, took off running away; I told Marie she's gone, she said she'll come back. I told her I don't think so, she's gone, but she ran maybe 1/8 mile away down the dirt road, and I whistled and she came back, ran up to Marie, and I got her.

If you look behind the boat, you can see some of the trees in water from the Heleen hurricane last year, the damage it done a number on us at 140 mph winds that sounded just like a train; Marie and I were on the porch at 12 pm that night when it came over popping trees here, and at river.

Yesterday we thought we'd take a nice relaxing ride down the river and take the 4 large dogs.
Was one of the worst days of my life far as anxiety goes. I got to the point of standing on the rocking boat and screaming for help from somebody anybody in this area. Then ask Jake to call 911, he said not yet, I made it clear it was time for it when I screamed at him and the breathing huge dog in my face.
So he gets 911 on the phone which I instantly took to talk so they would know just how desperate and afraid I was. Of course, Jake said she is 76 so she needs help, as the dogs barked until I screamed shut up kind of loud. I told the 911 man I was feeling really bad and would they send someone to help us get out of river, of course they said they don't do river recues for boats. I told him no boat just us.
Captain Jake was going down with his ship so to speak, I just wanted out.
After talking to a couple of 911 operators, basically hearing they can't help us wanting to give us numbers to Wildlife, River rescue, etc, while the only contact with outside world is our cell phone and they want to get technical so after smacking a dog out of my face I got to the point that I'm dying and I don't really care what they do eith the boat. said they had a Highway Patrol officer who was in the vicinity, so he got on the phone to talk to me, I told him now I'm past sick on the way to dying basically what I felt like. He said he is not far from where we are,[ which we didn't know where we were but he found us by phone signal.
I get off the boat and start my climb up a hill on what looks and feels like I'm climbing a long high sliding board. It is at least as long as our porch which is about 40', " mumbling all the way what kind of fool would install this for egress and regress ".
This ramp was at a big tilt with non-grip floor and a handrail. So I slowly pilled my way up hoping I wouldn't slide or fall backwards.I was out of breath by then and I saw v2 patrol cars pull into the yard of house we docked at. Looked like angels to me.
One of them nice young men took me to our house to get my van. telling me which way to turn on each intersection, lol,
I got into the van following the fast driving officer around curvy dirt roads who led em back to Jake and dogs. I picked up the dogs, took Jake to parts store for battery, got lost again on way back to boat b\ut at least we had the 4 dogs in the van.
So older man on a golf cart helped us find our boat. then I came home at sunset set while Jake stayed for more adventure on the boat in the rapids ,gators, snakes and stuff. Thank goodness we didn't see snakes or gators at all that 6 hours on river.
