Postal Service uses mostly illegal CDL drivers

In the search for illegal CDL drivers, it has been discovered that the last administration apparently subcontracted long haul mail delivery to companies who employ mostly illegal drivers since those companies can usually get the lowest bid, and nothing was ever checked as to credentialing. The current administration tried to halt this practice, but found that if they did, the mail delivery would come to a halt nationwide. Another quandary for Trump to solve in three years.

That is all true, but our government doesn't seem to be able to run anything as a business. It does know how to shovel money into stuff though.

And again Ayn comes to mind, better than me typing it out huh?
I hope Trump is fighting to save us from both.

Maybe this is why the mail delivery is so erratic . When we order from Amazon, sometimes, we see the packages fo back and forth (presumptively, anyway) between Huntsville and some Tennessee Amazon warehouse, and then , after 3-5 days of the back and forth, they show out for delivery.
Another strange one, they arrive here and are out for delivery, but do not get delivered, so the next notice we get from Amazon is that the package is either delayed, or undeliverable for some reason like our driveway was blocked, or they could not find our house address.
This is nothing to do with the over the road drivers when it shows out for delivery, but it is part of the whole mess that is the US Postal Service nowadays.

Amazon may have gotten into the same trap as the USPS. They put out bids for truckers and the companies using illegals always get the contract since they pay their drivers less. The same thing has happened in the construction business, especially in the Southwest. The builders using illegal labor could always outbid the ones using union workers with higher pay and benefits, so everybody had to move to using illegals or they went out of business. That is what George W. Bush called "the illegals do the work Americans won't do." What he was really saying was that the illegals will work for wages that Americans won't work under. He was very pro-illegal too, but he did nothing at all compared to the mess the Biden Administration has led us into.
