Piers Morgan thanks New York for electing Mamdani

Reality is hitting Mamdani. The Governor of New York has told Mamdani he has to apologize to Trump as both New York State and New York City need Federal funds. Trump has already frozen funding for infrastructure projects in NYC, and Hochul has threatened to pull state funding as well if Mamdani does not make peace with Trump. The Mayor of New York has also been instructed by the State Department that he has no power to arrest a foreign head of state, as he has threatened to do to both Netanyahu and Putin.

Now Mamdani has reportedly asked for an "audience" with Trump to apologize for his rhetoric and to try and make peace with his superiors. He ahs also reportedly begun to back down on free busses and free child care, as well as city-run grocery stores as he doesn't have any funding for any of it and has pulled back on his defund the NYPD promises. New York is going to realize the consequences of electing a rich kid who has not grown up yet and who has never actually held a job of any kind to be its mayor.

I have likened him to some high schooler running for class president who promises more pizza days in the lunch room and easier tests in the class rooms.
The problem is, there are some (as ensampled in the NYC elections) who will believe all that clap-trap.

Promises are easy to make, but not so easy to keep. If Staten Island succeeds in seceding from the other boroughs, it will add to his problems.

It is interesting that President Trump just called Mandami into his office for a meeting, and he offered to help out with New York with whatever was needed to make it a safer place to live and for people to work.
Now, it will be up to Mandami to decide whether he wants help from the federal government or not, and if he chooses to refuse any help from the president, and things go bad for New York, no one can say that President Trump didn’t offer to help out to make things better, and the responsibility will all come down on Mandami.

Also, they have videos of runners dropping box loads of ballots into mailboxes before the election; so at some point in time, this is probably going to come out with election corruption charges against Mandami as well.
His future is not looking as bringht as he would like it to look, I think.

I understood it was Mamdani who requested the meeting, not Trump. Is that incorrect? The President doesn't have the power to order anyone to meet with him as far as I know. Congress does, however.

I find that hilarious. Is he going to apologize to Mamdani for calling him a Commie? Trump can dish it out, but he's too thin skinned to take it? That the way it is in campaign season. Or did he forget who started all these monikers: Little Marco, Lyin' Ted, Sloppy Steve, Joe Hiden, Sleepy Joe, Crooked Hillary, Ron DeSanctus, Cocaine Mitch and many many others. Although some of those people deserved what they got, it's a two way street. The problem with Trump is that when campaign season is over, the childish name calling continues.

I seem to recall reading that Mamdani requested an "audience" with the President. So he could have had an appointment.

It appears Trump was playing Mamdani. If you notice Trump remained seated and Mamdani stood by his side in a manner similar to others that Trump tries to belittle. Mamdani now has to explain to his angry Communist base why he met humbly with a Fascist and Trump has to explain nothing.

Once again, I have to ask "He is our only hope for what?" And I bet I still won't get a strait answer. I never do. But I will keep asking. Because Darth Vader is not my Father.
For keeping our nation sovereign, although so far it has only been talk and promises.
India, China, Russia and the Middle East don't allow illegals, of course nobody wants to go there anyway, lol.
Our major cities are no longer recognizable anymore.
I am glad he brought in National Guard to slow up crime.
Some have a problem with it. But isn't that what they do. national means nation, doesn't it?

I just saw that New York City that once hosted 125 Fortune 500 companies but now has only 50. Texas now is home to 54 of the Fortune 500 companies and has passed NYC in this category since Mamdani's election. Florida has something in the high 20s. JP Morgan-Chase now has more employees in Texas than in New York. The Texas Stock Market is now picking up. It is sad to see a once-wonderful city die.

A couple decades or so ago, American truckers were complaining about all the trucks coming in from Mexico taking jobs, causes wrecks, recaps would come off in the road, couldn't drive a truck, couldn't read the road signs ,etc, etc, etc.
So they planned a nationwide protest and were to meet on the border. They were to fly an American flag or decal on the trucks.
The corporations said the first trucker with a flag on his truck heading for the border would be terminated.
That was the end of that.

Wasn't the mayor of London recently elected to a third 4-year term? That would be difficult for anyone considering the recent problems with inflation and covid across the world. Or were those elections rigged also? lol

Seems to some that western civilization is bad. I'll never understand how this suicide of the 1st. world nations is so popular.

Mamdani stated in his inauguration speech yesterday that he will replaced rugged individualism with collectivism. That sounds a bit like Lenin in the early days of the Soviet Union. Chants of "Tax the Rich" broke out in response. If the rich leave New York City, those chanters will b stuck with tremendous tax burdens and terrible living conditions.

Sounds like Communism, doesn't it? NYC has lost 75 of the Fortune 500 companies they once housed. Texas and Florida are gaining from New York's loss. After those speeches, they might lose the rest. It would be easy to move to New Jersey or Pennsylvania, but I don't know if that would be better. The wealthy want to live where there is no income tax, and they will take their money with them.
