It represents an increase from 215 students initially reported to have been abducted from St Mary's School in Agwara, Niger state, early on Friday, according to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
Gunmen kidnapped girls and boys aged between 10 to 18, in addition to 12 teachers.
The tally was changed "after a verification exercise and a final census was carried out," according to a statement issued by the Most Rev Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, chairman of the Niger state chapter of CAN, who visited the school on Friday.
He said 88 other students "were also captured after they tried to escape" during the attack at the site, which has more than 50 classrooms and dormitory buildings.
