The riots in California are getting worse by the hour. The California National Guard has been called in and the Marines from Camp Pendleton are now on high alert in case they are called in as backup for crowd control.
Cars are being burned, stores are being vandalized, and now the Los Angeles freeway is closed because there are so many rioters there that the freeway is blocked.
This is a weekend, but by morning, most of Los Angeles will be trying to go to work, and roadways are blocked.

There are protests in several other cities, like New York, and Portland (Oregon), and even more protests have been scheduled for next weekend, all across the country.
The president of Mexico is encouraging the Mexicans in the US to keep on protesting and rioting, because they want them to stay here and send money back to Mexico .
But, it is not just the Hispanics who are rioting, they are finding a lot of the Muslims and pro-Palestine people in the crowds as well.

It is looking like this is not going to stop very soon, and if it continues to spread to our major cities, it is maybe going to be hard for some places to get food and other supplies, so it seems like a good time to stock up, at least a little , just in case.
We live in a red state, and right by Redstone Arsenal, with NASA, FBI, and other military headquarters here, so they are not likely to do much protesting here, because this state would shut them down right away most likely.

Here is a map showing where protests are planned for next weekend, and a list of cities they think are the worst places to be right now.

Here is a list of places that are having riots , according to the news on X. Albertville is not that far from Huntsville, but is a smaller town.

They're having Protests, which is a Constitutional Right in this country. The First Amendment to the Constitution guarantees the right to peaceably assemble. And it was peaceful until someone sent in a bunch of Cops, etc. which caused it to escalate in Los Angeles. However, I guarantee you it's not like that everywhere.

...according to the news on X.
Well, there you go. You know how I always say don't get your News from YouTube? X is worse.

DEPORT CALIFORNIA!
You really crack me up, Susannah. You should know that is not a good idea. If California were "Deported", here's something in particular that could happen...

First of all, according to the USDA, Californians produces an estimated 13% of the US Food Supply. According to the California Department of Food and Agriculture, "California agricultural exports totaled $23.6 billion in 2022, an increase of 4.4 percent from 2021." I don't know what percentage of the US Food Supply without California in the count would be, but it seems logical that if 23.6 billion worth of exported food, a majority of which stays in the US, were suddenly sold to Canada or Mexico or whoever wants it, other than the US, that would cause many food items to become scarce and prices for those food items would subsequently take off like a rocket.

And that is only one product of many that California produces that if we were "Deported" we might just say "Ok, we're our own country now with the world's 38th highest population, the 4th largest economy, and we don't need you as much as you need us. Get the products you used to buy from us from someone else."

So if you think prices are high now... Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it.

News on X is whatever you want to make it be, @Axel Slingerland . Every news station in America, plus from other countries , have a page on X. All of our government entities have a page on X, plus all of congress, and independent journalists.
What you follow on X makes all the difference on what you see on there, and I follow a lot of the news accounts on X, so I get a lot of views of what is happening on the news.
Since it is almost instantaneous to upload something to the X platform, it is the very best way to see news right as it is happening from news journalists who are at the scene to write about it and take photos and do interviews.

Obviously, you can’t just go to the website and see just information news, you have to start following different news and journalist accounts; so it takes a little while to find and follow the accounts each person is interested in, but just about every major news source and government official has a page on X.

To me, that makes no sense. News is supposed to be honest and accurate. How can you make something you see on there honest and accurate? It either is or it ain't.

I know everyone and his mean uncle Joe was on Twitter, I chose not to be. But when Elon Musk bought it, he made it even worse, so now I really have no interest in it. It definitely falls into the Anti-Social Media category.

Among the issues of the topic at hand, Hanson goes into this fallacy of the "California carries the world on its shoulders" myth.

California is burning its candle at both ends and it is meeting in the middle now. It couldn't possibly go it alone. Even electricity has to be imported on a significant scale to meet demands and there are still periods of brownouts and rolling blackouts.

The place needs to be fixed but that is never going to happen under its current culture and leadership.

They are definitely getting ready for protests all across the United States this weekend. I discovered that they have the planned for here in Huntsville, and for several of the towns nearby; but I think they know enough to keep it non-violent here, and the information for this protest suggested that people would be sitting around and listening to speakers, and encouraging non-violence.

It came out that Christy Walton was prospering some of the protests through the no-kings organization, but Walmart says that she does not even live in the US and she doesn’t have anything to do with the Walmart stores, and they do NOT support the protests at all.

Most of the larger protests will be in the liberal states, because the government basically lets them do whatever they want, just like they did the last time cities were burned with the riots. If the military is called out in more places to protect citizens from the rioters, we might end up with at least some of the states being under martial law for a while until things are under control.
We will probably just make sure that the gas tank on the pickup is full, we have groceries, and stay home all weekend. Most of the ones in Alabama look like small ones.

I think all that is nonsense. This is a "Manufactured Crisis" of Trump's making. If it was that bad all across the country, the National Guard wouldn't be able to stop it. California has the most National Guard Troops of any state, and there is only 24,000. The US National Guard as a whole had approximately 431,000 members as of 2023, and only 325,000 of them are ground troops.

I tried my best for several hours to find reports of these riots where Trump called in the National Guard in other cities and came up with nothing. LA is the only one. Personally, I think Trump hand picked LA for this because the people there will fight back, allowing a peaceful protest to be escalated to riot status. It's happened there before.

I saw that demonstrations were scheduled for Anchorage on Saturday. On TV last night, there was a "demonstration" in front of a government building. About 24 people showed up. My wife is supposed to be in Anchorage on Saturday when things are supposed to be going down. One commentator in the past said that ,"Alaska doesn't have riots since everyone has guns." If you attack someone's business here, you will probably be shot, and the state courts here are very friendly toward those who shoot in defense of life and property. We'll see what Saturday brings. I can't see it coming out this way.

Don, I hope everything goes well for your wife.

We didn’t have it real rough during the George Floyd riots but we did have a few incidents, not riots. Most of them could be legitimately called protests but 2 were different. During one the criminal protesters shut down the Interstate. It didn’t last long but the most notable thing was when a group of those hoodlums came back later deliberately targeting a particular cop.

They were in a convoy and tried to terrorize the residential neighborhood where the cop lived. They drove up and down the street honking horns and displaying rifles. It was a little while before there was a big organized police response due to something else going on in town but as they drove back and forth residents appeared on their porches and in their front yards holding AR-15s and other long barrel guns. Very quickly the hoodlums hit the road back to the big city. Citizens need to be their own best defense.

Some of the Democrats are getting totally involved with the anti-ICE riots and the protests scheduled for this weekend. One senator crashed into a briefing being given by Sec. Kristi Noem, yelling and interrupting her, and not even saying who he was , as he was pushing his way through the people around her. The Secret Service stopped Senatorial Padilla and tired to nicely lead him out of the doorway, and he started fighting them and refusing to go out, and he finally had to be forcefully taken down, handcuffed, and taken out of the building, and then he started telling people who he was. He took his badge off before he burst into the briefing, so he intended for this to happen and made sure that his camera man was filming it.

We now have people saying that they were hired for the riots, and told where to find the bricks and Molotov cocktails use to firebomb the cars. Since they are being arrested and charged, and not released like happened in previous years, they are starting to tell law enforcement how they were recruited and by whom, so their testimony is gong to help to find the people who are supporting and financing the riots.

Absolute bullskit is what that is... And to be honest, what surprises me about it is not that it is absolute bullskit, but that so many otherwise intelligent people believe it.

Crowds on Demand, a California-based company that specializes in providing on-demand crowds for protests, told Fox News Digital it received "numerous high budget requests" to get involved with the anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles and other cities but declined to participate.

A company spokesperson said it declined to get involved in what is happening in Los Angeles because it did "not want to get close to any form of illegal activity, including violence, vandalism or blocking off roads without a permit."

.................................................................................

"The NGO known as CHIRLA was centrally involved in the LA riots. The organization, which has previously sponsored a campaign to abolish ICE, alerted the rioters to where ICE operations were occurring in real time. The agitators would then show up and disrupt ICE activities, including through the use of violence," Kiley said.

"This group is a major campaign contributor to Gavin Newsom and has received $34 million in state funding. An investigation is absolutely appropriate and necessary."

IRS records obtained by Fox News show CHIRLA has received $34 million in government grants, including three from former President Joe Biden's administration for $750,000.

Hey, maybe if Trump made a deal with that Crowds on Demand company he could actually get a huge crowd instead of making up how many people show up. Of course, he could probably only do it if he paid in advance. People know about his history of not paying his debts.
