"Meals", cooked by you.

Guess we are lucky not to get a gut issue with beans, not so sure why. Maybe try different types, just a little, to see if it's maybe it's a spice or something, I would imagine that Pakistan, may spice their beans; not sure.
Yes the former neighbour used allot of spices in the lintel dishes…. She used to make a dish of sorta scrambled eggs / tomatoes and lots of spice as well
Their diet was mainly rice / both types of lintels .that keep the shape unlike the red lintels that puree / break up
@Jake Smith. I never seen them eat any type of desert

So….. not a meal cooked by me exactly, but these are my lentil micro-greens growing in the sprouting tray in between my two Aerogarden Sprouts which give them extra growing light. These are almost large enough to clip and eat, and they can be added into soups or scrambled eggs, or just added raw into a salad . They are SO delicious and healthy.
I also like to soak lentils overnight and then purée them in a blender and add them to my fiber cake. They add lots of nutrients and extra protein to the fiber cake, and once they are cooked, you can’t tell that there are lentils in there at all.

Spices are good for you, but I would imagine some could affect people differently. I love my desserts after a good meal in "moderation of course".

I had heard about them once online, how good and nutritious they are for you; so we ordered some to try to grow; but never got around to planting them, I "think" that they may still be here somewhere; but would be older than heck now.

That all looks delicious, @Jake Smith ! Fruit cake has always been a favorite of mine, along with mince pie; but that chocolate cake looks awesome, too !

Moma used to make mince pie at Xmas for us, haven't had one since way back then; and thanks for the compliment too. Those fruit cakes we make, don't taste like store bought at all, they taste more like a nut cake, not so sweet like store bought fruit cakes. We sent Mama one every year by mail, she loved them and told me they taste just like her Grandma made. We mail one to some my brothers, and our three children each year; but they got quite expensive for ingredients, so now we do it after holidays, when on sale; and Mama passed at 86, and so did Terry, one of my brothers who we sent a fruit cake each year.

I made the very old fashioned desert called lemon delicious a few days ago …one to take to a friends for lunch and one for us …I use my own fresh lemons / rind and juice and add more lemon than the recipe states as we like it “lemony “ if you don’t know the recipe @Jake Smith …LD pudding it’s a dish that when cooked sets a light sponge top and a lemon sauce under the top …in saying all that I rarely cook any deserts however we both like yoghurt so we will often have a bit of yoghurt with some of our canned fir a desert after our evening meal

I do love lemon cake; one thanksgiving that grandkids were here; I had made lots of different cakes, and one was lemon, what surprised me was they ate the whole lemon cake, and never touched the chocolate one. After they were gone I told Marie can you believe the chocolate cake made it, "untouched".

Sponge cakes are really good, and I bet a lemon one, would be awesome. :)

I like lemon cake too, especially made with fresh lemons! I don't like that fake artifical stuff that comes in a bottle or that little plastic lemon. I bet yours' and Marie's lemons are amazing, since you have lemon trees; fresh lemonade, pies, and other desserts.

They are, and we do love fresh lemons from our tree. These are just one bucket off that tree; I have to go out to the barn, and get my taller ladder to get the rest of the lemons off; they're so "high" up in that tree. :)

This sounds good. Maybe later on we can try to make one if you give us the recipe.

We are having really cold weather right now, but no snow (yet!), and it is a good day for a nice pot of beans and ham soup, with veggies; so that is what is in the crockpot for today’s dinner.
My microgreens were getting tall enough that I was able to snip the tops off of most of them and added that to the soup, and that should add some really good flavor, better than dried herbs do. You can see the little bits of bright green flecks on the top, that is the microgreens (I cut them into short bits after I had harvested them from the sprouter).
Later, when we are ready to eat, i can make some cornbread or maybe garlic toast.

Looks delicious, to "me", it will help with cold weather, for sure, "micro greens" are a nice touch to the flavor too I bet.

I always seem to eventually forget (once again) why I do not top a rice pilaf side with slivered almonds.

I can't say why, but chewing this changes my "bite" somehow and every time no matter how cautious I am I bite the inside of my lower lip. Hard. Repeatedly. In the same spot.

😦

Tamale casserole.
I made this today for supper. This is a picture of my tamale casserole I took some years ago, when I was on food forums and making myself picture cookbooks. It is served with some tortilla chips, and if you like alcohol ,a cold beer or margarita goes nicely with it.;)

That looks delicious, @Krystal !
I made granola today. It has fresh apples, oatmeal, flax, chia, pumpkin, and sunflower seeds in it, and also some chopped dehydrated apricot and some raisins.
The yogurt is culturing in the yogurt machine, so it will be ready by tomorrow.
