It's good to have smart friends.

Hard to chose. My best horse was a grey arab. But then, Thunder the black shetland was amazing in his own way. basically, all of my horses were favorites. I love/loved all of my animals, (except two roosters ;)
My mini cow Bella was such fun. She thought she was a big black Lab. She would do anything for a good scratching including herding people into a corner and keeping them trapped until they fixed her itch.
Dogs, cats, grinny pigs, sheep.
How do you choose? Which was yours, Marie Mallory?
A great discussion question.

My favorite animal, this is hard since I love so many, I guess a dog or cat, then my donkeys were smart and lovable too, which I had one as a child 'Katy' and one 'Rosie' 20 years ago.
I had a goat when I was 6-9 that followed me everywhere. I love horses and think they are the most beautiful of the equines although, I've been around them all my life off and on.
I never had a parrot, but I like those too.

My favorite animal was a dog I bought as a puppy when I lived in Minnesota. He was my best friend for many years and his death haunts me to this day. It allowed me to move to Alaska though.

We have a pet cemetery here now. Cats, dogs and a bullock we saved from the stockyard. They were being so cruel to that little baby bull, so we bought it for $6 and put it in the backseat with the grandkids. But he didn't get his mother's milk so he died. He sure did grow fast though to be dying, it was all I could do to hold his head up and use feeding tube. Vet said I was wasting money ,she was right.

But you tried to save it. At least you saved it from a cruel death. Because it sounded like the people you bought it from were real winners.

Stockyards are the last pen before the slaughterhouse, and yes the animals there are not kept humanely at all.
I felt sick, no sense in being that cruel even if they are about to die, the cows mashed up together in small stalls, not a visit I'd ever seen before and not one I will see again.
It's a cruel world for many humans and animals. Sad as it is, that's life and always has been.
