India and Pakistan appear to be nearing a war. India has broken diplomatic relations and has cut off important water resources to Pakistan. Both nations are nuclear powers and could embroil south Asia in a major war. Questions are raised as to whether China, Russia, or the U.S./UK will enter to try to cool tensions. It appears that this was started by a Muslim terrorist group entering the India-controlled portion of Kashmir and murdering civilians based on religion. I think Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs all inhabit the area. There are exchanges between Pakistani and Indian troops daily now.

Any opinions on this?

They have been fighting for centuries. They should never have been allowed to develop nuclear weapons. Do any countries have enough influence to stop the fighting?

Well, it appears that the ceasefire negotiated by Trump between India and Pakistan is collapsing. Terrorist attacks in both Islamabad and New Delhi have now threatened to bring South Asia to the brink of nuclear war once again. Both countries are blaming the other, but some strategists are positing that perhaps someone is manipulating the two nuclear powers to attack each other. It could be China, as China has coveted the northern parts of both countries, but it is more likely the Taliban perhaps using American equipment abandoned in the country as we fled in disgrace from that nation to stage attacks in both countries in order to
destabilize the area. It could, of course, be at the behest of China as well.
