I talked with Ken, SOC update, please read and respond !

John Brunner found Ken’s phone number, and I just messaged him. He misses us, too, and said he would like to start another forum, which would also be SOC, but with none of the background threads from the last 10 years, because those are all lost.
Otherwise, it would look just like we are used to seeing it.

He said he is going to see about finding a good server, and how much money it will cost to start up a new forum again. I told him we would be glad to donate and help out with the costs because I know several people have already said they would do that if it would help out.
I asked Ken to come over here while he is looking up information, and I let him know that we all miss him, and that no one blames him for the stupid server people not keeping the servers working.

Since 2015, he did everything he could to give us a wonderful forum home, and i have missed Ken dreadfully. I tried to rescue everyone before we were all lost , and we have a refugee place here, but it is like a rented apartment instead of our much loved home. I would like nothing better than to have an SOC forum again, even if it is a new one and not the old one we have loved all these years.

This is a wonderful forum, and @Smithy has been most gracious to let us old people invade his forum and just move in like it was ours. Now that he is used us doddering up and down the forum hallway with our mugs of coffee and our reading glasses, there is no reason we can’t be here, even if we have a senior’s forum again.
It is not like it is an either/or situation, Folks.
Some of us have belonged to several forums , and just looked at SOC as our Home Forum. That is what I did.

Good to hear. I hope others continue here too. It’s good to have multiple places to chat and this has seemed like a friendly and welcoming place in the short time I’ve been here.

Because Smithy asked Yvonne a question and that same question was conveyed to this forum in the form of a thread.

The question was asked and answered. No reason to continue and bring up specific past incidences and members name. That is my point and what I call dirty laundry. What happened on the old SOC should stay there, hopefully sealed forever.

The question was asked and answered. No reason to continue and bring up specific past incidences and members name. That is my point and what I call dirty laundry. What happened on the old SOC should stay there, hopefully sealed forever.

Well Faye, allow me to put it this way.
Yvonne spent DAYS to find a nice little place where we could come back together and then spent more days trying to find everyone that was on SoC and invite them here.
Sadly, things didn’t work out the way she imagined. She thought that we’d just work our way in and have little friendly discussions about this and that but nope, some of ya just gotta start slamming Ken Anderson because he didn’t pick up the phone or email you personally and tell you and all what the problem was.
Heck, you haven’t even belonged to that forum for a year.

Ya know, I’m tired reading all the back stabbing chatter so instead of also having to read what you all are directing Smithy to do and not to do, I’m going to simply say adieu.

again @Yvonne Smith Thank you for finding this place and all the work it took. I said it before and I say it again, I don't fault Ken in any way and don't think he owed me or anyone else on SOC any explanation. If he wanted and needed time to do other things and maybe enjoy life, that was his choice. He had every right to ignore emails, phone calls, or Facebook messages. Sometimes busy public visible folks like Ken need privacy time and don't owe anyone an explanation.

@Smithy Thanks for this forum and being laidback and willing to accommodate. This is my last post on this matter. I regret ever responding to this thread.
