Greetings to you! My name is not Axel Slingerland. That was my stage name in my former life. It is now my Internet Persona. I've been a computer geek (nerd if you prefer) since 1986 when I bought a Mac Plus to run lights for my band. With the exception of about eight months during and after two major hospital stays, I've used a computer every day since then. But if you count cellphones, which technically are mini computers that also make phone calls, you could drop about for or five months off of that total.

Anyway... I just wanted to say Hello.

The slogan from our old forum was something like “try not to offend others, and try not to be too easily offended”. It was the only guideline we needed and works pretty well as long as we all remember to follow it.

Hello again,

It's nice to see some new people and some people I kinda sorta know from another forum.

I have had the most fun day. My car has a flat, I called my insurance's Emergency Assistance people, they said a tow truck would be here at 3:00p, they never showed up. Then I so skillfully burned the only hash browns I had to go with our dinner, country fried steak, hash browns and country gravy. Fortunately, it was still edible as all that is left in the fridge is a pack of Costco's big hotdogs, like the ones they sell at the deli, but no buns or bread. That sounds even less appetizing than burnt hash browns.

I finish dinner, turn my computer on, but Spectrum is down, so no Internet. So I drove from Trondheim, Norway to Catanzaro, Italy in Euro Truck Simulator 2. But I arrived late. Of well, it's just a game.

Finally after three hours, the Internet was up again. So here I am. Hi!

As I said before, yesterday I called a tow truck and they never showed up. I was about to call State Farm and request one again, but it occurred to me that I had no idea where the Donut is. So off to my favorite place to waste time, YouTube, I went. I looked up where the Donut is, but in the video I watched, when the guy got the jack out, he said something about a DC Air Compressor being included with some Dodge models. I looked up my Grand Caravan SE and I was happy to see there is one included.

So I went outside and looked, and it's in there. Assuming the thing works after 10 years, I'll be good to go. I was prepared to spend $200 plus to buy another tire, but my wife bought two at Costco two years ago, and they have a 5 year warranty. I called them and they will fix or replace the tire for free. I'll drink to that!
