My daughter lives in the Netherlands (for her job) and I have noticed that the temperatures on her weather forecast had heat warnings. It looks like it will be even hotter there next week, too.
Do you have air conditioning to help keep cool, @Smithy , or what do you do when the weather is this hot ?

@Yvonne Smith No, I only have a fan in my house which is good enough we rarely get 40c weather.
Our houses in England, UK are not made for hot weather when it's really hot the houses are even hotter inside.

It's going a lot cooler by Sunday thankfully.

I remember my daughter saying that where she works, they have no air conditioning in the building either. She said that the Dutch just send people home when the weather is too hot for people to work inside of the buildings. Of course, she probably has no air conditioning at her home either, but at least she can run a fan or be outside if she wants to.

When I was growing up in Idaho, we didn’t have any kind of AC, or even a fan at our house. My folks left the doors open, and just had the screen doors closed at night. The fresh air was able to circulate through the house overnight and cool it down. Once the weather started warming up in the morning, my mom closed all of the doors and pulled down the window shades to keep it cooler in the house.
