Favorite animal

My favourite animal is a cat :) I have been a cat lover for a long time. I also have a soft spot for Golden Labradors :)

I also love the golden labradors. My dog played with a chocolate labrador when he was a puppy.. they're around the same age.

From as early as as I can remember, I loved horses, and wanted a pony more than anything. My mother used to take me for walks at night, and one place we went, they had a little pure white Shetland Pony. I just loved seeing that little pony, and asked for one for years.
Eventually, my folks got me a pony, and then I have had horses for most of my life after that.
My kids all grew up riding ponies and then horses, as they got old enough.

Now, we live in town, and there is no place to keep a horse, or to ride one if I did have it.
I have my little dog, Marco Poodle, and he is my best buddy now. I pretty much like most animals, and have had dogs, cats, horses, cows, goats, llamas, chickens, ducks, geese, and little birds like parakeets. Of course, we also had hamsters, rabbits, and guinea pigs, so my kids grew up with a variety of animals around, too.

What are these called? Looks a lovely animal.
Can you approach them or do they run off?
That is a bull moose, and they are not approachable, @Smithy . The moose is as large as a horse, and is very apt to chase a person , and will attack. When I lived in Idaho, we had them come through the pasture sometimes, and often, they just went through the pasture fence, tearing it down, rather than jumping it like a deer or elk would have done.

My friend who had a snowmobile said she was chased by a moose when out riding her snowmobile, and she was fortunate to have outrun it before it tipped over her and the snowmobile.
Since they have released wolves into north Idaho, the moose and deer will often come right into town now, because they can eat on people’s lawns, and be safe from wolves killing them.

We call them Moose in the US. But I believe they're called Elk in Europe and the UK. And no, it is not a good idea to approach one. Moose are near sighted, they have to get close to things to see them clearly. If you were hiking through the woods and suddenly come upon one, if you're close enough for the Moose to see you, you might get lucky and he'll run off.

On the other hand, if you're a blur, a typical way Moose react is to charge whatever they can't see clearly and consider to be a threat for whatever reason. They may not have good vision but they have a keen sense of smell and can hear quite well. Chances are they will know you're coming long before you see them.

There's a lot of Moose in Yellowstone and the National Park Service recommends you stay a minimum of 100 yards away from all large wildlife, and some of the smaller ones like wolves, that also have a keen sense of smell and hearing, in addition to being able to outrun humans easily.

Rabbit. Salted, peppered, floured fried golden brown, then mixed with brown gravy. Served with mashed potatoes. :p
I've never had one before. Is it really good? I've had a buck before, Nilgai and a cow directly from a co farm. They're so delicious!!! The meat is so much different than the ones from the local stores. :D
