I walk and lift low weights to control B.G. It has warmed up so I'm about to go walking.
It helps keep my old smoker's lung going. if I don't walk, I don't feel good.
I think it helps me mentally too.
I walked 2 days ago and cleared some more vines too. The vines kill the trees, but once pulled out most recover if cleared in time.

I couldn't agree more. I smoked for 40 years. And after having covid and everything that came along as a result of it, I walk the length of the hallway in the building we live in pushing my wheelchair. It's about 100 yards wide, and I walk it twice. Then later if I'm up to it, I do it again, making the total 400 yards. If I don't do that, I can barely stand up. I wish my sprained knee would heal already... I sprained it when I fell in July, then made it worse when I fell again in August. But I've been extra careful and no falls since then!

Glad you have a place to walk and it does help to do so.Also hope your ankle heals soon.

Well... I wouldn't go quite that far as to call this hallway nice. This place has it's merits, but when you consider them vs. the things about that aren't so nice, it really make that tiny house we lived in up in Eureka seem like a five star reesort. That was a lot to do with where it was too. This place is not in a Redwood Forest. But it was all I could find on short notice when I got out of the hospital.

On the plus side though, every apartment I looked at that was supposedly "100% Accessible" was highly over priced, and nowhere near 100%. That tiny house was billed as 100% and it was more like 10%. The only thing that made it "accessible" was one of two wheelchair ramps were usable. They don't make that claim here, and it is 90%. The only thing that is not accessible is the height of the counters in the kitchen and the bathroom sinks, and there are no grab bars in the bathroom. It's a three bedroom, and we use the third room as a storage room, saving $200 a month for a commercial one. And I can get into all rooms in my wheelchair. Cindy would like this apartment. To turn around in the tiny house's kitchen, she had to back out of the room and turn around and then go back in. It was just too narrow for a u-turn...

Since I did something bad to my muscle in my thighs and butt I'm walking around a small living room. I did go outside for a while today ,not for long though.
I have a big walker with extra large wheels for trails, gravel etc. I've never used it though, so far my walking stick works ok.

I'm getting a bad case of cabin fever. I think I'm healed then I do a little something else and fins out I'm not.
I'm doing better though.
It is supposed to get cold Monday night in the mid to high 20s.

We changed our advantage plan back to Humana, and they have the Go365 program which gives you points for exercise and also for just walking more steps, at least 5,000 per day. In the summer when we are outside more, this is fairly easy, but in the cold winter months I am mostly inside, and walking is just back and forth through the house.
I am going to try and do better at the walking around in the house and get my steps in.

I have not been using the Vibration Plate as much lately either, because it is always freezing cold in the bedroom; but I know that I feel better and have better balance when i do use it, so I am going to get back in the habit of doing that more again, too.

Today was my first walk in almost 2 months, I took it slow and had my walking stick.
I only did about 1/4 of my normal walk. I'm still sore and sometimes leg goes out or pain hits. But it is not often as before.
It felt good to be on trail again.

@Yvonne Smith , we have United Health care but not happy with cost although we've never had a deductible, not yet anyway.

We had united health care for a while, too; but we both like Humana better. Th done we really prefer is Devoted health, but this year, they lowered the benefit for eyeglasses way down, and Bobby wants to get new glasses again, so after talking it over with our Medicare insurance agent, we decided to go back to Humana, at least for this year.
Each year, Jassen goes over the new plans for each company, and then he meets with us to see which company has the plan that works best for us. I usually look online at the company websites and compare plans, too; so usually by the time we meet with Jassen, I have a pretty good idea which plan will work best for us for the upcoming year.
