Dog and Cat Friends'

We miss not having a cat. Also still miss the little kitten Sheba born here in the woods. In case we get another cat someday, I'm researching the the Dogo cat relationships. I don't think the Goldie would be a problem and so far Dogo seems ok.
I know Foxy loved Sheba and Leo didn't try to hurt her either.
Of course, if the cat ran across the yard things could get interesting if childhood experiences is any indication of what could happen.
Our dogs never hurt our cats till one of the kittens who liked to ride on my donkey jumped off Jatys back and ran across the yard, our dogs tore that poor little kitten to shreds!

We both enjoy our two dogs and the kitty cats. The whole cat thing started because we had a bad freezing storm here that lasted for longer than usual, so we put out food for stray cats , and boxes on the porch for them to shelter in. Then, we just kept on feeding them, and more stray cats started coming around.
It works out good for both us and the cats. They catch and eat rodents (and sometimes birds), so we no longer spend money on rat poison, we spend it on cat food instead.
Some of the cats are feral, and come to eat but do not want to be touched, and some have been strays that people just moved and abandoned, so they are friendly once they have been around for a while.
We even have a possum that let Bobby pet him the other night !

The opossum was here again just now, finished up the last of the cat’s food, and snuggled himself inside their igloo, with his tail hanging out. Looks like he might be tucked in for the night. The cats were sniffing his tail, but are not alarmed by the possum.

So cute, funny how we humans are not getting along too good while animal's seem to be bonding in all kinds of ways.

We had a possum living in our barn for a couple of years. I was hoping I could get a young one and raise it.

Watching this was upsetting. Sorry, but I just don't trust large dogs, especially that particular breed.
